Fieldcraft Manual
The release of our revised fieldcraft guide is a major step for us. As it is very comprehensive, we will offer it as a print version soon. Releasing quality, easy to digest, and experience driven manuals always was a cornerstone of this project.
While there is no exact release date yet for the print version, we want to release it before the end of the year. Of course, you can access this and all our other guides in a digital format.

@RBTPressOffice How is this tape charged? Most glow in the dark I have seen it charged by exposure to light, so if kept in a pouch until it is dark it would not have any glow to it...
English

Tape as a marking tool
Chemlights are well known as a marking tool, while a lot of people like to run around confused with chem light bundles on their belt, not knowing about the actual utility, they come with the inherent issue of being bulky if you need to mark a longer route and of having a very strong glow to them.
Glow in the dark tape is a great way for marking your way back from an ORP. Even under nods, cut through terrain can make navigating at night hard while allowing for zero errors.
Therefore, marking your way back with small snippets of tape is a proven concept. As you need to be in very close proximity to see the tape, it's less likely to compromise your approach.
Additionally it's lightweight, cheap and compact in size.
Just don't make the mistake of taping your retreat route like a runway.

@DJ_Dunewolf @LucasBotkin @l4performance @LonghousePrep @opfor8r @SneakyGroup It's not connected to foliage or replicating it. Scrim is even used in urban environments for a reason.
English

@RBTPressOffice @LucasBotkin @l4performance @LonghousePrep @opfor8r @SneakyGroup not enough woods around me to really need this.. too much flat land as well.. while I have some decent high grass areas on property - there is very minimal cover..

Upgrade your Scrim
Hessian knots are a simple and affordable way to upgrade your commercial helmet scrim. Always keep in mind to don't overdo it. Focus the intent of breaking the distinct shilouette of your helmet. Avoid having "Antennas" pointing up, but also don't let it all lay flat.
In order to do that, orientate the loop you form either up or down. This way the knot will either stick out or hug the helmet shell a bit more.
Last but not least, always keep your field of view free from scrimmage. Cut excess scrimmage until you have no obstructions.

lol.
So me reffering to literature makes me unable to work without a manual? So this must apply to every instructor in the military who is referring to a manual. Seems legit. Anyways, let's get that into a productive direction.
So let's have a look:
"FT Doctrine: Squad Passes LDA in a wedge"
Swiss Doctrine: "FT passes LDA in a line"
German Doctrine: "FT passes LDA in a line"
All of those have in common that they want as much firepower as possible to the far-side. For a good reason.
Are there other ways to do it? Of course! But usually, there are SOPs/ Best Practices for a reason.
If the answer to everything was METT-TC/ It depends, we wouldn't need field manuals or even procedures.
English

@RBTPressOffice I think you don't know what you're doing unless the book tells you what to do. But maybe that's just me.
English

@cm_19d I think you are just trying to avoid a short concise answer. But maybe that's just me.
English

@RBTPressOffice EVERY tactical situation is METT-TC dependent as that determines what "procedure" also known as TACTIC to use.
I don't have to look up the book because I've done it in real life both in training as well as in real combat from E1 - E7. I know how to read a tactical situation.
English

@TICK_GOBBLER Sorry for having only so much place on a phone illustration 🥲
English

@Neyythee Yes! Usually it's either wedge, line or staggered line. As you stated, firepower belongs to the far-side here. Aside from that the squad "jumping" the LDA in line is harder to spot than in a column
English

@RBTPressOffice Blue, all firepower toward front - the unknown area, and whole FT running across the road side by side will get across it faster with less exposure time, but is more vulnurable to enfilade fire.
English

@RBTPressOffice like all tactical situations it's METT-TC dependent.
You train for both scenarios.

@ThomasB30964323 @Ravaalek Use that time and money to go and work out. Learn Land Nav, learn field craft. The knowledge is all free.
English

@RBTPressOffice @Ravaalek Is there any courses or training guides for stuff like this? I'd like to get started with this stuff but I don't know where to start. I also don't have (and can't have till I'm 18) a good AR or pistol to train with so that doesn't help
English

@ArcaneArsenals I agree, but keep in mind that for the sake of the illustration and user experience the spacing had to be reduced. So there may be another flaw with two of the squads 😉
English

@RBTPressOffice None of them, too close to one another
English

@QYeroq Generally you are right in regards to the spacing. However keep in mind that not all militaries have or use the Wedge formation.
English

@RBTPressOffice None of them, where’s the spacing? Their intervals are all wrong, and they should be in a wedge shape!
