In a major achievement in meeting evolving operational requirements of the Indian Army, AVNL has completed the overhauling of first two T-72 tanks under a pilot project by Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ), a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL). The tanks were flagged off on Wednesday, 28 January 2026 at VFJ. This project strategically expands the overhauling facilities available at Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), a Unit of AVNL. The tanks were flagged off by Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, MGS. The occasion was attended by Shri Sanjay Dwivedi, IOFS, ndc, Chairman & Managing Director, AVNL; Shri Satyabrata Mukherjee, Director (Operations and Additional Charge Director/HR), AVNL; Shri Praveen Kumar, Chief General Manager, VFJ; along with other senior officers and personnel from the Indian Army and AVNL. This milestone provides a significant impetus to AVNL’s ongoing efforts to enhance its capabilities and meet the aspirations of the Indian Army, according to the technical specifications and quality standards set by them. #AVNL @DefProdnIndia

Strengthening India’s #MakeInIndia defence manufacturing 🇮🇳 India Optel Limited (#IOL), a Mini Navratna Defence PSU, has signed a collaboration agreement with #Safran Electronics & Defense for Transfer of Production (#ToP) of two high-precision, combat-proven systems, enabling their manufacturing in India. Agreement signed by CMD, IOL Shri Tushar Tripathi and Head of the Defence Global Business Unit for Safran Electronics & Defense Mr Alexandre Ziegler in the presence of Secretary (Defence Production) Shri Sanjeev Kumar in New Delhi. The collaboration covers: 🔹 SIGMA 30N Digital Ring Laser Gyro Inertial Navigation System, used in artillery guns, air defence systems, missiles and radars. 🔹 CM3-MR Direct Firing Sight, designed for artillery guns and anti-drone systems. 🔹 IOL to undertake manufacturing, final assembly, testing, quality control and full life-cycle support in India. Building on the MoU signed in January 2024, the partnership strengthens India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem and supports the operational requirements of the Indian Army. AVNL has operationalized our Contract Management System (CMS) Dashboard for monitoring the execution of the Contracts of the Company on real time basis. This Dashboard has enabling functionalities of monitoring the Value of Production (VOP) and Value of Issue (VOI) and also the receipt of payments and outstanding payments on the basis of which AVNL Apex Management can monitor the monthly production performance and payment status of each unit. @DefProdnIndia @DPE_GoI
