@REdH_B

I’m a Central American illegal who walked around Trumps pathetic wall, got a free ticket to Tijuana and $2600 from DHS, came back and did it again 6 times.

@RadishHarmers @kangminlee Genuine question: why do you troll in ways that you know will increase misunderstanding and backlash? I get that you find it funny but do you think it’s a good contribution to an already heated discourse?

Funny so many people from the oughts keep saying the same things I'm telling you. I could keep going through ancient forum threads all day and probably find hundreds of these. It's a shame that so much of the internet from back then ended up memory holed or lost. Any other era, the kind of absurd gas lighting you guys are doing on this subject wouldn't even be possible because of better historical documentation.

Again, as displayed in the previous post, it was dependent on where you were and when. I even hit up an old college lifting buddy on signal just to make sure I wasn't remembering wrong. What you're remembering is when the early financial crisis first started to nip. Whopper prices suddenly became Whopper Jrs prices, then further and further shrinkflation until we get where we are now. And that's the whole point of this discourse, isn't it?

Yeah, I used to get $0.99 Whoppers from Burger King all the time in high school and college prior to 2008. Now I got a bunch of mendacious cultists trying to convince me that didn't happen.
Rich 🐺@heywildrich

in 2007 Arby's had a "5 for $5" deal, you could pick five items between a drink, fries, cherry turnover, roast beef sandwich, milkshake, etc. me and a buddy would go there and get this, each got a sandwich, drink, we split a fry. under $3 each for lunch. USA used to be great.

@timelinetripper I was there too and I know they weren’t regularly 99 cents. Me and my 2 friends would pool together 5 dollars after school and get 3 whopper jrs and a small fry. Not 3 whoppers. A 99 cent whopper is a small limited time promotion not the regular price of it throughout the 2000s

That was just one franchise, bro, as an example. If you recall, this was the start of the Burger Wars years. It became an increasingly regular thing. I grew up in Appalachia. Wages were always lower than everywhere else, so it was far more common. Frankly, this whole discourse is incredibly disingenuous and I'm kind of baffled that you people are even arguing about it. I was there lol.

They were 99 cents each and I can prove it. It depended on where you were in the country, but it was definitely a thing. And yeah, It was a good way to get enough protein throughout the day. I was an ectomorph, with a super fast-metabolism, so it was never an issue. Protein was 1-1.2 grams per pound of body weight, this is common knowledge. I could buy five on my way to college, leave them in the dorm fridge, and nuke a couple of more in the microwave. But go ahead keep telling me I'm lying and I can keep proving the prices and basic fitness knowledge.

Can confirm dollar whoppers in the early to mid oughts. This was not 90s stuff, which I was also around for. I would be bodybuilding in college circa 2005-2008 and get like 5 X $0.99 whoppers for $5 and smash the whole stack to hit my protein targets. Could also do that with McDoubles off the dollar menu at McDonald's for years and years later until COVID finally put an end to anything even remotely comparable.

@Inurooshi No they didn’t, especially not in nyc. In the early 2010s they had the 2 for 5 and that’s the cheapest it was then. Only other way was getting a free one with purchase with coupons found in mailers

@REdH_B @CarolinaLion2 I live in NYC until the late teens. Our burger king had a tuesday special 1.00 whoppers from 4pm to 8pm. It crept up to 1.39 to 1.49. To 2.49 then canceled 2018/2019

Intelligence reports stated Maduro “feared” taking Trump up on his deal, because he was scared to be executed by his Cuban handlers When he was captured, he was being guarded by around 30-40 Cubans Now why on earth would the president of a sovereign country be guarded and “handled” by guards from other countries? Because the only colonizers and imperialists for the past 67 years, are the same ones who have blamed the US for these actions: The Cuban Regime 🇨🇺

@WhatJosueSays Venezuelan expat here, I can vouch. Throughout the 1960s the Cuban dictatorship tried to invade Venezuela 4 times; then they switched to infiltrating the armed forces, which resulted in Chávez and his 2 failed coups in 1992; and since 1999, in 27 years of chavista puppetry.
