You simply cannot watch both teams play and think Stephen Curry is officiated the same way Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is. I have no theory as to why that is, other than maybe one guy is more willing to sell. But anyone who says this is the same is lying or divorced from reality.

It’s one of the easiest applications of just war theory in US history. Trump does not pretend at all that he is motivated by a commitment to the common good or just peace—or has any commitment to jus in bello principles. No pretense of last resort. Ran on an amoral FP approach.

I would not valorize the 1870-1928 period. Yes, the second Industrial Revolution delivered growth, but this was not shared - income and wealth inequality rose. Workers faced low wages, long hours, no power, and dangerous conditions.

Dante, setting aside the myth that "public ownership" prevents "corruption," 1870-1928 in US, there was virtually no welfare & labor unions negligible share of workforce + huge influx of immigrants, weighing on wages. Yet huge leap in living standards for broad masses of folks.
