PROJECT HAIL MARY is almost completely sold out at Universal CityWalk IMAX for the next week. This is a Monday night screening. The last time I witnessed this kind of excitement in a non-franchise picture was with OPPENHEIMER.

Jamie Lee Curtis when asked if they should ever have a Halloween w/o Laurie and the Strodes. This is so smug and so disrespectful to all the other people who worked on the non-Laurie centric sequels. Especially Donald Pleasance who for many is far more integral to the franchise.

@JosephKahn I’m in an indie filmmaking school and the instructor said get a Black magic camera. I’m no cinematographer and the price is for everything is like lens, etc is $2000! What would your advice? Invest to learn? Or…idk. Another option?

Shooting all my projects on Venice 2 lately. It's feeling more cinematic than Alexa 35 to me. It's so weird.

WISHFUL THINKING, by the way, won the Narrative Feature prize at SXSW. It’s a very worthy winner.

One of the bigger surprises of SXSW is Graham Parkes’ metaphysical sci-fi romance WISHFUL THINKING, which stars Maya Hawke and Lewis Pullman as a struggling couple whose love could literally move mountains. My review via @Screendaily screendaily.com/reviews/wishfu…

Visually this clearly does not separate itself from the Jon Watts trilogy, which is disappointing. Not nearly as dark and depressing as I was expecting, but it is only the first trailer. Worried it is already looking overstuffed.

@showbiz411 @TheAcademy I found the show boring. Conan's jokes fell flat. The sound was terrible. Then there were the camera glitches. The stage was ugly. I hope there will be a better show next year.

Just got an email from a publicist trying to rationalize the bad Oscar ratings. Well, "social media interactions" were up. LOL. Means NOTHING. @TheAcademy thinks this is important. They are clueless
