I actually feel bad for @Ludthinks, contrary to what the usual #FGC loudmouths are saying. He’s always struck me as a genuinely nice guy, and it’s unfortunate to see anyone dealing with immigration issues.
That said, the uncomfortable truth is he had nearly 20 years to handle this the legal way. That’s not exactly a surprise deadline. At some point, a judge is going to look at the timeline and ask, “Now you want to fix it?”
The community fundraising is admirable even if some of the loudest contributors aren’t exactly known for their integrity. Still, raising money doesn’t rewrite immigration history. A lawyer will certainly get paid. Whether that changes the outcome is another question.
From what’s been said, prior court issues tied to rent and credit obligations appear to have triggered deeper scrutiny. That complicates things significantly. If the case doesn’t go his way, the consequences could be permanent.
Honestly, the smartest path might be preserving whatever funds remain, resolving all outstanding court matters cleanly, and avoiding leaving with anything pending. If restarting becomes the only option, doing it strategically, and legally, may offer a better long-term outcome than fighting a losing battle.
I genuinely hope it works out for him. But hope doesn’t override paperwork.

@jamessmk @Papa_Haunts I'm no legal expert but isn't a petitioner someone who initiated the legal process? So he's either been detained and petitioning against his arrest, or petitioned himself to appear in court? Also weird that the defendants listed are federal secretaries.

Damn I just heard, that Lud is such a good dude he actually turned himself in to ICE because he was illegal! As per @Papa_Haunts and since nobody else has proven it incorrect I will run with it as truth.. these reliable news sources don’t play, and since nobody in the #FGC tells the truth, it must be truth.. thanks for update Papa!

@NateSilver538 Also, aren't sports fans generally somewhat conservative-leaning? Some sports (college sports, MMA, NASCAR) are definitely more conservative than others (NBA, soccer) but in general I would expect liberals/leftists to see sports as a decadent distraction from real issues.

Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God.
No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.
Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.
Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously.
