On the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day, The Royal Irish Regiment presented their Colonel-in-Chief, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, with shamrock at Bagshot Park.

☘️1st Bn @RIrishRegiment took a pause from training in Kenya to celebrate their identity and proud history on #StPatricksDay. Troops were presented shamrocks, a tradition started by Queen Victoria in 1900 to mark the gallantry of Her Irish soldiers during the Second Boer War.

As part of St Patrick's Day, General Sir Roly Walker @ArmyCGS presented sprigs of shamrock to members of the 1st Battalion @RIrishRegiment ☘️ The officers and soldiers welcomed the Chief of the General Staff to the Lolldaiga Mountains Training Area in Kenya as he was briefed on the latest training 🇰🇪

More sporting success for the 2 R IRISH Cross Country Team. At the Army Cross Country Championships in Tidworth, the team placed 2nd in the Army Major Units race, matching last year’s result. One team member won the Army U23 race and finished 2nd in the Senior Open. 💪🏼🏃☘️

1 R IRISH competed in The Duchess of Edinburgh Competition at @RMASandhurst, earning an impressive 3rd place overall. A tough contest testing skill, teamwork, and resilience. Faugh a Ballagh! 💪🏼☘️

The Colonel of The Regiment visited 1 R IRISH on Tuesday to present operational medals for recent deployments, as well as commendations and Long Service and Good Conduct (LSGC) medals.

A Company 1 R IRISH has handed over operational responsibility for Op SHADER to 2 RIFLES, marking the conclusion of a successful tour. Faugh a Ballagh.

2 R IRISH recently returned from Exercise NORTHERN STRIKE 25(2), training with NATO allies including the US Marine Corp Battlegroup and @MINationalGuard. Using American platforms like the Black Hawk, the battalion demonstrated its interoperability, lethality, and survivability.

Congratulations to JUO Tallulah Toms and OCdt Rory McGuigan who were joined by the Deputy Colonel of the Regiment and their families at today’s Sovereign’s Parade. They will commission into the Regiment at midnight tonight.

When the General speaks, everyone listens. 1st Bn @RIrishRegiment open fire during their Machine Gun Platoon cadre on Salisbury Plain. The training qualified soldiers to operate the 7.62mm GPMG - dubbed 'the General' - and the 12.7mm HMG as fire support weapons.

🚨 Eyes on the target. In the dead of night, the Anti-Tank Platoon from 1 Royal Irish set up a precision ambush, ready to take on enemy armour before it could advance. Ranger Andrews shared how every movement was planned to the second, and why operating in darkness pushes soldiers to their limits.

13 #IRISHRANGERS graduated from AFC Harrogate today - a major step on their journey to becoming infantry soldiers. In September, they move to ITC Catterick to join Anzio Company for 14 weeks of intensive training, before joining 1 R IRISH in time for Christmas.
