Few points on Nascar and some of my honest opinions. When I was a kid drivers were your heros. A big part of them molded me into who I am now. Dale Sr. obviously. You knew everything about them. You bought their shirts at Walmart. Now I wouldn't recognize half of them if they walked next to me. Racing was unpredictable. Things happened that kept you on the edge of the seat. Not anymore. Cars were cars. My dad bought a 85 Thunderbird because of Bill Elliott. What won on Sunday sold on Monday. Then Nascar build the COT the most ridiculous thing on the planet. Bristol the most anticipated race of the year. Lets change it. Lets rebuild it. Times started the same time each Sunday and on the same channels. No one knows now when the race is on and what channel anymore. And back to the drivers. They used to get dirty. Worked on their cars. You could relate. Now many bitch and whine. They fly off on their private planes. The good ol' days are no more. And the ratings sadly show. I am and always will be a huge Nascar fan. But I have no idea who these points even work and all this stage stuff. I just want to feel passionate again routing for someone and not fast forward the DVR. Round and round they go.
