@Kingfirsttt @DarthhPotato @TRIGGERHAPPYV1 You don’t have to respond. I’m on a quest, no matter how fruitless, to bring kindness wherever I can. Maybe you can’t accept it, but maybe someone else will see it who can. Be well.

Surveillance video shows the moment a tourist completely destroys a crystal covered art chair called “Van Gogh” at The Palazzo Maffei in Italy (2024) by sitting on it to pose for a photo

@EdyoryHer @CuestionQue That’s not true, you can actually do lots of things if you have a law degree and don’t pass the bar. Teaching, corporate counsel, IP manager, mediator etc

@byjoelanderson I’m glad for his personal awakening. As much as I could listen to was rage inducing, though. There are none so blind as them who choose not to see.

Good on him for his epiphany but this should be humbling, if not embarrassing. He didn’t believe black people’s claims about their experiences with racism until he haphazardly subjected his adopted black child to the racist culture & community he lived in

@_AllThatJaz @jamiesmile321 Also meaning they’ve paid royalties. And maybe people who are unfamiliar see something they otherwise wouldn’t. I do see your point and feel your concerns. This was great. Thank you. Have a good rest of your day.

@_AllThatJaz @jamiesmile321 Agreed. No argument. How do we make things standard? It can’t be by saying that it’s only for some students to learn and not for others. I guess I’m not seeing anything being given up or taken away from art centered in the Black American experience being taught in academia.

@RJ_inRealLife @jamiesmile321 White plays aren’t taught for understanding in those programs it’s because that’s what’s considered standard which we have to look at white so we only look to white playwrights as worthy so I don’t think that’s a good comparison lol

@_AllThatJaz @jamiesmile321 In school, we studied Chekhov and Shakespeare and things that. weren’t for me. I try to emphasize to anyone who will listen that because these things are a part of our Western lexicon, they belong to us all. If musicals can be put in that same stratosphere…

@jamiesmile321 @_AllThatJaz An opportunity for understanding. And the stage is truly magic. Because that’s true… anything can happen there.

@jamiesmile321 @_AllThatJaz All the reasons you stated against, would be my arguments for white actors doing the play. I like what Viola Davis says about her time at Juilliard, that she was taught to be a white actress. Professionally it’s highly unlikely they’ll get an opportunity like this..

@_AllThatJaz @jamiesmile321 Heard. Performing artists should have many and varied chances to perform in their programs. I just don’t see anything wrong with this. If it were a professional production, that’d be a different conversation. Because it’s not, we’re having this one.

@_mais_pourquoi_ @_AllThatJaz It’s a non professional production taking place in academia. At least, that’s my understanding from the poster.

@jamiesmile321 @_AllThatJaz Because the musical has great songs and you want to expose students to a show that changed Broadway. Those are 2 reasons I can think of.

The fact that a speech had to be canceled for credible safety threats is exactly why we cannot give up the fight to end indoctrination and DEI on campuses once and for all. The root problem is professors who gin up feigned outrage at the detriment of their students, who they should be teaching to think critically. End tenure now!

@imKTitsme @PamelaEvette @Bakari_Sellers Your first sentence is a great argument for segregation… feel like that’s not your intent so should maybe you should rethink your stance or the “why” behind your stance unless you want any of the progress of the last century to be erased

my issue with this is 1. obviously it’s going to be expensive if you work with established and/or in demand talent or if you have a lot of demands i.e wanting to leverage a particular stylist’s relationship with certain luxury brands or showrooms. 2. Nobody is stopping her from working with newer talent or pulling looks herself and going to a regular salon for hair & makeup. ( I’ve literally seen celebrities in the MAC store in Cannes getting a full face beat right before the red carpet ). You have options diva!

Michael's Jackson mother, Katherine Jackson, found out that her husband (Joseph) was having an affair with another woman while still in active marriage. The outside affair resulted in a daughter being born, called Joh'Vonnie (born 1974) Joh'Vonnie later described herself as the family's "secret" or "bastard child" 💔 As she wasn't included in the ideal Jackson conversations. Katherine was broken but chose to stay in the marriage and raise the children in unity and togetherness 🫂 Joseph maintained this second family, and the affair lasted for over two decades, according to reports
