@109mph @StephTuittRules @realjoeymUS Trumps offer gives US something worthwhile to be involved and is a terrible deal for Ukraine. The purpose is to make it too difficult for Europe to sit on the sidelines and, as we can see, it worked incredibly well.

You're missing the point we're trying to make here. This isn't about Ukraine 'winning'. They've been invaded by an enemy that is killing their men, women, and children. It's entirely a lose-lose for Ukraine, what we should be doing is enabling Ukraine to negotiate peace with Russia from enough of a position of strength to guarantee their security against further invasion or attack, instead Trump wants to completely undermine Ukraine's position so they surrender and Russia takes what they want and yields nothing at all. And Trump wants to claim their resources for the US as a reward for his part in that.

Possible goal in the offer is to force the EU to the table in a more meaningful and permanent way.

I'll be honest, for the greatest nation on Earth it's not the most impressive plan. Why would Zelenskyy want to agree to a deal like that? Of course he resisted.
