Mississippi State has signed Washington State forward transfer ND Okafor, @chris_hummer and I have learned. The 6-10 Okafor posted averages of 11 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season. Had committed to Ole Miss earlier this month but has now signed with Mississippi State.

Definitely not losing a center to Gonzaga.
The older followers can back me up on this: St. John’s would have had Lew Alcindor if not for a since-revoked university bylaw that forced Joe Lapchick to retire at 65. Lapchick aged out two months before Alcindor graduated high school.

A huge hole remains for St. John’s with a wasteland at center in the portal remaining.
The information about this recruitment isn’t palatable to say the least.
