@HighwaysSWEST Don’t you mean a delay of 6-8+ hours on the M5 and a further 1 hour delay (so more than likely 4 hour+) on the diversion? How, after 1: hours, the tanker is still in the flipping road and you’ve still not “treated” the spillage?

@HighwaysSWEST Absolutely. Kids and pets in cars both being left and then they tell us to contact emergency services if we’re concerned for someone welfare! Wouldn’t be any concerns for anyone if they got the traffic moving again!

@HighwaysSWEST Is there any chance, anytime soon, you’re going to get this sorted and get traffic moving again? One accident should not render this much chaos. And stop lying about the congestion time!! People are telling you they’ve been stuck 4-6 hours and you continue to lie!!

@tonythesheep There’s nowhere to get off between junction 21 and 22. We’ve been stuck for almost 4 hours already and they’re so useless cleaning it all up they can’t even estimate when the road will reopen! In the meantime they’ve gridlocked everywhere else

@HighwaysSWEST I’ve been stuck in it for 2.5 hours already and I’m still nowhere near junction 22. I have a toddler in the back that needs to get out of her car seat and I can’t because emergency services cars keep coming down the hard shoulder. We’ve barely moved!

Severe delays in excess of 2 hours 30 minutes on the #M5 southbound between J22 #Edithmead and J23 #Puriton following an earlier incident involving a fuel tanker. Resurfacing and barrier repairs are required. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
