Met a woman at a Miami dinner last week. Former nurse. No business background.
She's doing $3.2M/year selling one skincare product. Started 2 years ago with $8k saved.
Her entire growth strategy: she spends 1 hour every morning studying competitor ads in the Meta library. Puts her face on ads.
No agency. No media buyer. Just her, a Canva account, and a relentless system for stealing what's already working.
Her ROAS is 2.8x after 2 years of consistency.
I asked her what most people get wrong.
She said: "They want to be creative. I just want to be right."
The best ecom operators aren't the most talented. They're just don't overthink and print.

@zerohedge Trump lost midterms on the Epstein files. The R’s are cooked. I voted for Trump the last three elections. My mistake, not that the alternative would have been any different. It was a lose/lose.

there's a massive threat to ecom brands in the next few years
suppliers can now easily step into the role of a brand
with chinese open-source models like kimi k2.5, they can produce ad creative, build landing pages, and test offers faster and cheaper than most brands can keep up with.
there’s nothing stopping them from plugging in agents, spinning up 100 stores, and running volume at scale.
why keep selling you the product for 5 bucks so you can slap a logo on it and sell it for 150
and they’ll undercut on price because they own the supply chain.
so if your unit economics are soft, there's no escape hatch in that environment.
if your aov is too low and your ltv doesn't cover your cac, you can't spend your way to profitability and you can't optimize your way out of a model that's broken at its core.
the only moat left will be the stuff a lot of brands have been putting off
branding, community, subscriptions, email flows, loyalty, and getting your paid channels as efficient as they can be.
the unit economics need to be ahead of where acquisition costs are today, because they’ll only go higher from here.
