With great sadness, we share the news of the death of our colleague and friend Prof. Sean Tierney. He was an inspirational leader as Dean of Professional Development and Practice and clinical lead for RCSI/COSECSA. Our deepest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

We're celebrating! 🙌 Today, we announce the official opening of a new paediatric Operating Room alongside @Smiletrain at @MeTRH_Hospital in Kenya! 🇰🇪 This is the 1st paediatric facility of its kind in the area, meaning safer access to surgery for the children of Meru County 💙

So grateful to our Director for Africa @RMugwe, who was present to speak, & ✂️ the ribbon. She was joined by @Smiletrain's @Esther_Njoroge, Hospital Director, Dr. Kathiri, @KawiraHon & Gov. of Meru County, as well as some members of the KidsOR team! 👏

KidsOR's @RMugwe, alongside @emakasa, this week met with leadership for the Ministry of Health in Lesotho 🇱🇸 They discussed next steps for the country's development of National Surgical Healthcare policy Everyone deserves access to safe surgery & NSOAPs are crucial to this 🙌

We have launched the Paediatric Surgical Services Plan in collaborating with the Kids Operating Room Org - UK. This partnership envisions that, “No child should die, or live a life of disability or pain, because of a surgically treatable condition”.
