At #OSSummit + #ZDS2025 Europe, Tim Guite (Magpie Embedded) & William Vinnicombe (@Raspberry_Pi) present: A Slice of Zephyr Pi!
Exploring Zephyr support for Raspberry Pi MCUs (RP2040 & RP2350), PIO, Rust, RISC-V & open-source apps built with Zephyr + Pi. hubs.la/Q03DHlfM0
Raspberry Pi will be at #OSSummit + #ZDS2025 showing the great work we've been doing getting Zephyr working on @Raspberry_Pi Pico-2W. We may also have some giveaways :)
@NevilleVCole@SadButMadLad@Raspberry_Pi The AI needed to rotate the touch points it received from the raw touch event interface. Not the display, (I had already done that in the configuration)
@NevilleVCole@SadButMadLad@Raspberry_Pi Note, I am the author! All LCD displays have a scan direction, this particular display is portrait. In other words it is specifically 720 (horizontal) x 1280 (vertical) pixels. To display landscape means rotating the display in the GPU
We’re excited to announce a new 5″ Portrait variant of our versatile Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2. It shares the same 720×1280-pixel resolution and easy setup as the 7″ panel, at the lower price of $40.

@SadButMadLad@Raspberry_Pi Or, question 2 — Why isn’t the orientation of the display configurable in the display preferences (like it is with my 5 inch 800x640 RPi display)?
Raspberry Pi Connect, our secure remote access solution for Raspberry Pi OS, has been gaining users very quickly! Businesses can try Connect for free too, now with audit logging and improved user support.

One thing you get when buying a Raspberry Pi is a dedicated team resourced to continuously maintain and develop the operating system.
Igalia have been working with us for quite a long time now developing our fully open sourced OpenGL and Vulkan drivers

Going to be joining the Tom’s hardware team this coming Tuesday to chat about Raspberry Pi software. There’s a lot of love for Raspberry Pi Connect!

@NetworkChuck Just running the 14b parameter model on a Raspberry Pi 5 16G (we only have two in the office, yes that's the Raspberry Pi office!). It's not fast (obvs), but I do wonder how to measure the quality of its responses in comparison to other "state of the art" solutions.
Just made an AI that does millions of tokens per second on a Pi...
while True:
input("Question: ")
if random.random() > 0.5:
print("Yes")
else:
print("No")
Maybe not the most accurate... Let's just ignore anyone asking pertinent questions
@salva_lieb@geerlingguy@IloveRockchip Not on Raspberry Pi 5, all the firmware does is clocks and power (and booting of course) everything else is open sourced
"I was told Rockchip no longer considers RK3588 to be an “open source” chip. In practice, that means Rockchip no longer contributes RK3588 code to open-source projects and they also decided not to sell RK3588 directly to SBC vendors." cnx-software.com/2024/12/21/roc…
Just going for a a walk in Devon and find this…self service milkshakes and frozen meat, straight from the farm! I’m just hoping there’s a @Raspberry_Pi in there!
