Well if you’re a contractor and you keep your network as air-gapped as possible then you’re right.. but if you’re a full time cybersecurity professional it would be wise to work in person with other cybersecurity professionals due to everyone being on the same router and CIDR block. If one person doesn’t spot an issue on the network another person nearby would and then they’d patch things.

For some men, fantasy is better than what they can get IRL that would be long lasting so they quit putting effort in where it would matter long term and give into the illusion of the fantasy.
