New York school district to become one of the first in the United States to introduce a humanoid robot in the classroom. 'Sally' will have a Western New York accent and will teach 11th and 12th-grade students at Salamanca High School. Sally costs less than the average teacher's salary in New York, with a price tag of $57,000. The robot has brown hair, and can move its arms and legs, but will not be able to walk around the classroom. Students will be able to log in so the humanoid can recognize students and their previous interactions. The humanoid will be helping teach coding, robotics, and AI classes. The school district promises that robots will "never" replace human teachers. ‘Sally’ is made by Realbotix, which also produces "companion" robots. What are we doing here?

Biggest pet peeve is how realistic AI has become… it’s so bad that no one believes real artist’s art is real and hard work on programs is waved off as “vibe coded” and it’s getting increasingly harder to prove otherwise.
How are people supposed to be recognized for the hard work that they ACTUALLY did when no one believes they did it anyway.

I’m an artist and my partner is a full stack programming engineer. If we don’t record every step of our processes, people who don’t know us automatically label it as AI by default, as that seems to be what happens to makers. Because those humans don’t believe that humans are capable of great things anymore.
so it takes a lot more effort to make art or software instead of just being accepted at face value, you need to also procure and generate proof on top of already doing the art/software/game/etc.
For example true that I painted a piece of art on canvas on the Internet I have to record myself literally painting it lol. Taking the time to do that that the creative energy out of me and I know I’m not the only person dealing with this. It’s all over YT and TT.
