@AI_EmeraldApple For me, I don't care who is what religion. What I don't like is when people figure its their golden ticket if they convert me. And when I don't relent, they turn around and attack me over it. Or feel they are the only ones allowed to say something in a room.

There is a reason why I never say that "I'm a Christian" even if I accept that it is the one true religion. I don't like modern pop culture's commodified Christianity, and too many people are intellectually lazy when it comes to judging others. Whenever I talk about it, I can't talk about it without basically writing a "rant-level" essay that meanders through a ton of concepts because the core precepts of the religion are incredibly complex. It's literally impossible to talk about it without some level of deep analysis. And yeah.... I really hate it when people just take one verse, give the most surface-level reading, without considering the whole work of theology, and then put themselves as the superior being vs the nonbelievers. If they really want a black-and-white reading of everything with extreme simplicity, they should just join a cult... but then against certain denominations these days are practically a cult.

This is gonna be a hot take, but I agree with Sophie Rain, the OF model, on some levels. The Sistine Chapel contains hundreds of nude figures. The Vatican Museum contains tons of nude and erotic Renaissance art. Catholics today still revere these works of art. The male and female nude models in the artwork were themselves Christian, and the artists were as well. The female nude models were even occasionally sex workers of the time. During the Renaissance, there was a lot of revival of classical ideals and mythology along with interest in the body and anatomy that aligned with the popular humanist interests at the time. A lot of the art was also commissioned by wealthy Christian patrons and collected to signal their status for aesthetic pleasure. There is a lot of tension historically during the protestant reformation when it came to depictions of nudity, and the Puritan core is what seeded a lot of the West. The Catholics at the time also ruled that religious art should avoid anything that could incite lust. But compared to the Protestants, Catholics continued with artistic freedom in most cases. In core Christian theology, god created the body and called it "good". The incarnation affirms the body, and the resurrection of the body is the core doctrine. The problem comes with the "fallen" state where the sin of lust comes in. The Catholic approach is more about the idea that mature Christians could engage with images of the naked body with self-control without the lust taking them over. The Protestant approach is more about removing any tempting imagery altogether to protect people's hearts. Personally, I agree with the more OG Christian view of the Catholics. Sin is in the heart, not the body. Developing a mature level of self-control is more important than avoiding temptation altogether. It's about as naive as never engaging with evil and allowing evil to take root in your heart because you didn't understand evil. If you read Matthew 5 seriously... “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” ... the core problem is the viewer, "the heart", not the existence of the nude, the imagery, or even the nude model. If you take "removing" all potentially tempting content out of everyday life to the extreme, then you'd have to go the Islamic route and actually cover up women and destroy all art depicting the human body. In that frame, in my opinion, "fleeing temptation", Proverbs 4:23, Corinthians 6:18, etc is the weaker one vs training your heart so that temptation doesn't overtake you... and aligning with that, Christiantians should focus on forming the heart rather than sanitizing the entire visual world. Much like the rest of the seven deadly sins. You engage with it, understand it, and develop a moral framework on how to defend your heart against them. But here is the counterpoint. OF style content exists entirely within the frame of the "sin" of lust. Most of the audience is not viewing through a detached lens that allows them to resist temptation. Either way, it's not my place to judge or police anyone. Sin and morality are messy, and god doesn't demand perfection. Plenty of devout Christians throughout history were severely morally compromised, and all have sinned and fallen short of "perfection". Expecting anyone, even OF models, to be morally flawless Christians is in itself a sinful standard, because no one meets the bar... not even the pope.

Here's a story about "free health care" under Mao. Marshal He Long was a friend of Mao but eventually became suspicious of his loyalty. He Long was arrested, tortured and accused of being "right-wing". Since He Long was diabetic, the communist prison guards decided to deny him his medicine. Not surprisingly, He Long suffered incredibly. His blood sugar ran incredibly high and he could barely move, eat, drink, etc. He was in an incredible amount of pain. Instead of helping him, the communists injected him with glucose to drive up his blood sugar even higher which ended up killing him completely. They also filmed it to show Mao. Mao, being the degenerate socialist dictator he was, watched the video over and over because it excited him to see him suffer. When people like Hasan Piker praise Mao and tell you "we just want free health care" understand what that means. Understand that this is what they want for you, your friends, your family and your countrymen. They hate you and want you dead. The sooner Americans realize this the better.
