@DennyTWright @GoodwinMJ I find the Tenerife story unlikely unless they were in a private hospital or it wasn't really emergency care. In Belgium & France you have to pay for doctor's appointment, but if you end up in A&E in a life threatening state, they'll treat you first & bill you later.

@DennyTWright @GoodwinMJ If people are penniless, it can be difficult to recoup costs. What should #NHS do? Leave them to die? Ask for a kidney? It's 100% nonsense that people on work visas (I've employed them 😉) don't pay NI. They pay same tax & NI as anyone PLUS NHS surcharge. So they pay 2x!
