You sign a £300,000 Riba mortgage.
The bank had nothing.
They typed £300,000 into your account.
Took them 5 minutes.
Over the next 25 years you pay them back £550,000.
That £550,000 is your wages. Your overtime. Your weekends. Your sleep.
For them it is pure profit. They created the money from thin air. They have no cost to recover.
5 minutes of their typing.
25 years of your life.
That is the trade.
The government allows it.
You were not given a mortgage.
You were enslaved by one.
That's why it's Haram!

As someone who travels between Hulhumalé and Malé many times daily, I constantly see heavily loaded trucks, mostly from government companies, driving over 70 km/h on the highway. Many of them even overtake at the same high speed without caring about others on the road. Just imagine what will happen if one of these trucks runs over a person. In seconds, a family can lose a son, daughter, husband, wife, mother, or father because of reckless driving. And it happened again last night !
The most worrying part is that nobody seems to seriously check this. There is a speed limit for a reason, yet many drivers act like rules do not exist and traffic violations have no real consequences. This is becoming normal. Another dangerous issue is the white paint markings on the road. Even on hot dry days, motorcycles can feel like they are losing control when riding over them because they are very slippery. Many riders know exactly what I mean.
Who checks these roads? Who approves these materials? Who is responsible for highway safety? Do authorities only react after lives are lost? People use this road every day to go to work, return home to family, and live normal lives. They should not have to risk their lives because of speeding trucks, weak enforcement, and unsafe road conditions.

the UAE may be the first post-ideological state in history. Every other country on earth, even cynical ones, has some residual ideology it has to perform democracy, Islam, nationalism, something. The UAE performed Islam until it became inconvenient, performed Arab solidarity until it became unprofitable, and is now performing liberalism for the same reason Dubai performs architecture: to attract capital, not because it believes it. They don’t believe in anything

When the opposition politicial parties stop getting their slice of the cake they rally against the ruling party. That's the beauty of the party system. When you loose make deals, But always remember to f#@k over the public.

We didn't vote to sell our islands and lagoons.
We didnt vote to centralize.
We didn't vote put all our eggs into tourism.
We didn't vote to digitize everything.
We didn't vote to give all our wealth to the 1%.
But Democracy gave us all of this.

#MTCC update.
I am being told that Ahmed Salam has been terminated from his job.
And through all of this, there still has been no proper explanation as to how the cars were procured, whether the deal was given to Litus, whether they were handed to Litus through a formal bidding process, or any clear explanation regarding Fixed Maldives and the app without a open bidding process.
Again and again, people across different layers of the government, including SOEs, continue to display arrogance, abuse of power, and a dictatorial mindset by refusing to disclose information, ignoring regulations, and intimidating or scaring staff.
A government does not earn a dictatorial image because of one person or one incident alone. A government starts being viewed that way when these behaviors become visible across every layer of the system and that is exactly what’s going on in this government ( except for few SOEs)
Right now, many within the government apparatus seem to believe that if they take the right step, stand against corruption, do the right thing, or are even suspected of doing the right thing, they will be punished for it.
It is sad to see this slowly becoming the legacy of this government.

#MTCC update: Ahmed Salam, widely regarded as a principled man with strong values, has been suspended from his role as Head of the IT Division over suspicions that he leaked information about the project. Meanwhile, Abdul Wahid, who just returned back from council election campaign, is ready to take over the division.

@Dhivehinn113 @shaffaafahmed Had reclamation cost alone been invested in Addu, Laamu and other areas, the picture would be different

Hayat aslında çok kısa, sadece birkaç geçici on yıl. Bir gün uyanırsınız ve o gün bir gündür; bir gün uyanırsınız ve o bir ömür olmaz. Her günü kıymetlendirin, yapmak istediğinizi yapın ve sevmek istediğiniz kişiyi sevin.
