Shaykh Dr. Zine El Abidin is hidden gem - the stories his mentioning casually is cajeeb. He started Jamiah in Madinah in 1975 and studied with Sh Hammad Al-Ansari for years. When I picked up the shaykh I said sorry I only have this humble small car unfortunately, he cheerfully said it’s an excellent car as long as it’s gets you from A to B. Then he mentioned how he had a small car in madinah and Sh Hammad al-Ansari would give it a name and say let’s go in your small car regularly. He said in his early studies he had a lot of effort in Quranic sciences then he met Sh Albani and benefitted much from his sittings so much so that he was inspired by him to go into Hadith more so he dedicated the rest of his academic life to Hadith sciences from Bachelors to PhD, from books to lecturing professor at university. He told me attended the masters thesis debate for Sh Muqbil bin Haadee رحمه الله and was sitting close to him throughout the debate. He studied two years with Sh AbdiGhaffar Hasan in Hadith and Aqidah. He did Tahqeeq of النكت على مقدمة ابن الصلاح للزركشي in 5 volumes. Many of the great giants of Hadith that were left teaching higher education in madinah uni that I mentioned he said they were his classmates! May Allah bless him and give him good health and long life to benefit the Muslim Ummah. He is here the whole weekend in Birmingham at GLM. Benefit from him whilst he is with us.
