IF ONLY we had access to private matches for all players, OR PROPER learning tools?!?!? OR MAYBE A better system in place to help you progress through the game and understand it LIKE IN GAME TUTORIALS WITH HINTS!?!?

Marathon devs have shared their reasons for Ranked and Cryo Archive being weekend only: - Players will lose a lot of gear, so Cryo and Ranked should feel like an event you schedule towards and grind gear up to do - Some rewards on Cryo are too good and would break the economy and power gain systems if it were always open - Cryo and Ranked both have gear ante requirements and level requirements and need a consistent flow of players in the queue to make sure matches are full to retain the challenge. Making it a scheduled event means more players will show up during that window.

@SmojiiTTV 3rd ability prevents fall damage as well as being great for breaking LOS, I get a lot of use out of it

I 1000% agree assassin's ult and invis should be swapped and it should be a single large smoke.
His ult should make him invis and gives him increased clarity in smoke for like 20 seconds but have a dumb long cool down.
They could just remove his third ability and make him just go invis for if he just stands still like drax in guardians of the galaxy. Idk his third ability is lowkey useless most of the time.
Just some thoughts after way to much assassin.

I kind of feel like Assassin's abilities should be reversed. Invisibility (especially in an extraction shooter) having a much lower cooldown than a bunch of smoke grenades seems backwards to me. Just a thought I had, don't come for me.

@Comrade_Del @Leuk0s That right there is exactly why I enjoy it over Arc raiders, its much more pvp based and for me every raid actually feels like its risky compared fo arc raiders where id go in and everyone was nice and friendly except for the 1% of people camping extract

@Leuk0s That's a good take! To me it personally reminds me too much of Destiny and Apex for some reason and makes me feel like the game will be sweaty as hell with how it's played.

Okay, I've got a genuine question. Genuinely honest question.
I'm seeing people defending Marathon and sure, if you enjoy this game, okay, good on you... but like... why is it good? What is so new about it?
I legitimately did not see a single person actually list a single reason why it's good. Not a single example of one. And doubly so for how it's new. Not a single person explained what is so new about it.
I've seen people doggedly defending it to the point it looks like they're getting to do it, trying to sell it to everyone that people just lie about it and that it's a good game that does new things... but not a single person actually lists any reasons why it's good or why anything about it is new.
So yeah. Why is it good and what is so new about it?

Wall jumping is fun asf
The aim assist nerf is making more a skill gap which is good for competitive play
There are maybe 2 maps I actually enjoy but theres potential
The guns feel great and the game looks great
