Do AFL journos commonly endorse club board candidates over others & make the case to try to sway members? I’ve been involved in a few elections - maybe I haven’t been paying attention but I don’t remember seeing it much. Must be nice! (Though not so much for the other candidates)

This announcement is also vital for key workers, like nurses, who often need to rent near their workplaces but are now spending over 50% of their incomes on skyrocketing rental costs. A lot of electoral potential in this one. Changing the demographic landscape of Melbourne. None of this will be good for the Liberal Party but they will more than likely wedge themselves on this announcement.

I really rate Hunter & would love the club to keep him, but it looks like, per his post, he may not have been offered a contract. This is just the start of what appear to be tough but necessary list decisions that need to be made to improve the overall balance of our list #GoDons

@SilverTopHurls @PatrickRyen We are doing a lot more right this year. Ball in our forward half a lot more, intercept game is better. Pressure around contest and contested work is better. Fitness is better. We ran all over the suns and freo. Execution is poor.

Cal Twomey confirms Hunter wont be contracted in 2025

@brendydaboy @ScooterMcNeice Parish is our 2nd best mid still. Durham and Caldwell 4-5 mids is much better mix. Shiel clearance work was elite, so much cleaner when we win it with him and parish around the footy

@ScooterMcNeice They have been huge for us but wouldn’t be doing any more than Hobbs or Setterfield if they were in the VFL. There aren’t many teams who would swap their 2nd or 3rd best mids for Durham or Caldwell.

Thought Nick Bryan was terrific for the Bombers today. Hopefully that signals the end of a VFL apprenticeship that went a couple of years longer than it might’ve. Today a great reminder of what youth can do with opportunity.

@danbomber @CalTwomey Far from overdue. We complain when players are not made to earn a spot then complain when players are rushed in. 14 vfl games is far from earning your stripes but he is been rewarded for some good consistent football which hopefully translates the good afl football

With four years remaining on his contract, his reasons for wanting a trade to Perth are purely family related. Their support networks are in WA. @RabbyHendry @JonathanJWalsh @crypto_cowes Yep. The less pressure on the ball coming out of the forward line the harder it is for the mids to get it back. The less pressure from the mids the harder it is for the defenders. When you have 3 or 4 (or 6 or 7) passengers it makes the whole team look bad.

@brendydaboy @JonathanJWalsh @crypto_cowes Usually we have a couple, had more on the weekend. Then others start looking after themselves. Backline made some poor mistakes but with the ball coming through the middle with no pressure didn’t matter who was back there.
