My bill to reauthorize the ACT for #ALS was just considered in an Energy & Commerce hearing! I want to thank @iamalsorg Founders Brian Wallach and Sandra Abrevaya for sharing their stories with Congress today. This would not have been possible without them. I also want to thank IAA Board Member Dan Tate, who will be joining us at a press conference on the bill later, alongside @RepMGriffith, @alsoassociation, @MDAorg, and @ALSUnitedIL.

And it makes economic sense to make clean energy technologies in the United States (some of which were developed in Israel, by the way). So can we all just start doing the right thing? It can't be that hard if we started listening rather than screaming (and maybe delete x?)

Look, no one cares what I think but I'm going to say it anyway. Last night was awful. They were killed a block away from my office. It's all been personal since 10/7 but last night felt like the final straw. It's time to talk out about so many things.

Sarah Milgrim, 26, was a passionate peace activist. She held a Master’s in International Studies from American University, and a second Master’s in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the United Nations University for Peace. At the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, she dedicated her work to building a future where Israelis and Palestinians could live side by side in peace and dignity. She also volunteered with Tech2Peace, an organization that brings together young Israelis and Palestinians to foster dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation. When Elias Rodriguez shot her, simply because she was Jewish, he murdered not just a bright young woman, but the very kind of person our world so desperately needs: someone working tirelessly to create a more peaceful, just, and shared future for all. May her memory be a blessing.

It is scary being an American Jew right now. We go to synagogues that are fortified with armed guards and police. Kids go to schools that have layers of security. Campuses and cities are filled with antisemitism. This isn't the world I grew up in. It's disgusting and disheartening. And I don't know how it will end.
