Just landed at an airport in Italy. Handed over my Pakistani passport for immigration and the officer smiled warmly, looked at me and said, “You’re a global peacemaker. We’re proud of you.” He then asked me to marry his daughter because he would like his grandchildren to have Pakistani peacemaking blood in them. Made my day 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰

@koshercockney Funny how they deny the Holocaust but believe the 'genocide' in Gaza

@VividProwess It’s 10pm here in Perth, so I’ll have to jump on x first thing in the morning to find out. Can’t wait!

@magataotao Australian too! Will be voting One Nation. Have always despised Labour anyway and the Liberals are a mess.

@AngelporrasXx I think a person should either be earning or learning. Become a useful member of society by getting a degree, or work so that your taxes are used for the benefit of the community.

@magataotao I agree. Stopped following and reading the regular news a few months ago. Much prefer to get my information on X, with everyday accounts that offer a variety of opinions. Traditional journalism is very one-sided.

@infantrydort I’m in Australia and have never been prouder of a country that is not my home. You guys absolutely rock! I wish our simp leaders had even a fraction of the guts and patriotism shown by the US military. Well done

I’m up in the middle of the night and am about to go back to sleep. But seeing the news of this pilot being rescued after one of the most daring rescue operations in history has me motivated beyond belief.
To the media and the haters who’ve been obsessed with palace intrigue stories. Trying to sow division and calling for the heads of our leaders. I hope this news hurts. I hope it hurts a lot.
I have my finger on the pulse of the information machine these days. And what I’ve seen over the past 48 hours is the weaponization of said machine.
Bots, grifters, and partisan hacks all working in unison literally rooting for our failure. Rabid. Drooling. Damn near praying to satan for our own pilot to be killed or captured.
Hyenas, the lot of them. All cheering against America.
While they’ve all been groaning like demons for the heads of our leaders and warriors, people like @PeteHegseth, @SeanParnellASW and others have just been busily…. doing the job to get our guy back.
Nothing I type here will matter at 0300. But when the world wakes up in a few hours, it’ll see the fruits of merit based leadership at echelon. All the way down the chain.
An Airman safely home after evading capture for over a day. An epic rescue that will be remembered for generations. Millions inspired by the shear power and conviction of the United States military. And millions more disappointed by it, because they were praying for our national embarrassment.
I’m not sorry you’re witnessing a competent war machine in action.
I’m not sorry that our leadership will never leave anyone behind.
I’m not sorry for any hurt feelings caused by this.
Because you were never on our team anyway.
God Bless America.🇺🇸

@lady_valor_07 My email ending is ‘rocketmail.com’, which I think was a sub choice of yahoo back in the day.

@GetFacted_ @nikitabier @dvorahfr You could make your own List with accounts you follow specifically. The list gets pinned next to the For You/Following tab. I move between My List and the For You sections to get targeted info as well as more broad information and see new interesting accounts in the timeline.

@nikitabier @dvorahfr Yes, I get it. And I appreciate opening up to more people (I love it), but there’s no reason all of my current news is completely displaced. I’ve had to leave the app the last 1-2 weeks to get my up to date news - and that’s what I started using this for on the first place.

@vanheda97 We are Jewish and went to the Persian Fire Festival a few weeks ago in our city in Australia. Met an Iranian guy wearing an Israeli flag who told me his sincerest wish would be to go to Israel and join the IDF.

@Jenny_1884 I agree with what you say, but house values have skyrocketed disproportionately to joint salaries in a short period of time. A house sold on my street for $503k in 2023. It went up for sale again in October 2025 for $781k. Current value not even 6 months later is $820k.

When I married in 1981 we both worked & most of our salary went on paying the mortgage as the interest rate was 15% at the time.
Everything we owned was 2nd hand & we never went out for meals as we couldn’t afford to.
We rented our TV
Went to the launderette every weekend as had no washing machine.
Only had new clothes at Xmas & birthdays as presents.
We went without until we could save enough to pay for something.
It’s always been hard whether you are young or old.
So those out there that think we had it easy we didn’t.
Our governments are to blame, not the old.

@libriscent There is a difference between being alone and being lonely.
