@RadarScope Gotcha. Makes sense. I really appreciate your help and time!
English

@RadarScope suddenly the radar is pixelated on both of my devices. iPad and iPhone. Please help
English

@cdot_evans We haven’t changed those products or how they’re rendered in a long time. Generally speaking, if the super-res product matches the L2 data, you’re seeing the best the radar can produce. Beyond that, atmospheric conditions and distance from radar can affect appearance.
English

@RadarScope I really appreciate your response and help. Huge fan of the app. Just seems a little less sharp from what I remember. This was yesterday on my phone. The iPad returns were less quality days ago. Until yesterday phone was still sharp

@cdot_evans At a glance, that’s looks about right compared to the corresponding digital ref and L2 products.

@weathermandan10 We added the headers and added it into our archive. Thanks for reporting it.

English

@RadarScope SPC mesoscale discussion #259 is not on your radar
English

@hoytcast No, I believe you. We’ve seen a couple of reports of it. Can’t reproduce it yet on similar hardware. We have an open ticket on it.
English

@RadarScope Yep, that’s where I pulled the original video from in this thread. I can screen record playback from photos app if you like.
English

@RadarScope I’m getting choppy recording playback no matter the frame rate (playback without recording is smooth). Any ideas to fix?
English

@weathermandan10 I checked our archive and Iowa State’s. Neither of them have discussion 0259. SPC web site has it. Most likely explanation is that it didn’t go out over NOAAport.
SPC archive lacks the product header, so I can’t manually ingest from it. Will try to find it elsewhere.
English

@RadarScope It wasn’t showing up on your radar when it was issued
English

@Crazycars811 Im not sure if it’s a bug or a performance or cost tradeoff. (The initial version on Windows lacked some optimizations, and we pay for tile usage instead of using their SDK). But we’ll look into it.
English

@RadarScope when using your desktop app, I noticed that the sat. imagrey looks very low quality and pixalated no matter what your zoom level is. Is there any fix for this?

English

@ClaytonEBarnett It’s a bug, but one we haven’t been able to track down because it’s so rare. Do you recall what you were doing when it happened? Was it when you first opened the app or had you recently rotated it when you entered dual-pane mode?
English

@DopplerDakota @wxwithdrew It’s likely a timing issue where some UI events fire in an unexpected order. We will track it down eventually.
English

@RadarScope @wxwithdrew It’s completely random for me, and easily worked around. Just a minor inconvenience.
English

@DopplerDakota @wxwithdrew We’ve seen a couple of reports, but we’ve never been able to reproduce it here.
English

@RadarScope @wxwithdrew This has happened to me several times recently. Rotating sideways and then back vertical does seem to fix it every time.
English

@hoytcast And still that way when you play it back from the Photos app?
English

@RadarScope Yes, I actually see the choppiness in real-time and records locally to the phone in same manner. Here is a screen record from just now…video starts with just a playback which is smooth. I then hit record function and it starts smoothly but then slows down.
English

@hoytcast Do you see the same behavior with videos saved locally as when posted here?
English

@RadarScope “Save video” on iOS. Been happening for a while now.
English

@wxwithdrew With Pontchartrain? It appears to be in the data set, but I’ll try to verify that.
English

@crackerjacksnr @BillMill96 I saw them, just haven’t had time to dig through them all yet.
English

@RadarScope @BillMill96 Can confirm, this also happens with my app and has been for a while, i thought it was intentional, beta 5.5.5, btw I sent some other bugs to your dms a few days ago
English

@RadarScope every time I open the app, the lightning setting gets turned off. I noticed it happening last month.
English

@BillMill96 We can reproduce and think we know what’s causing it. Tricky to solve but we’re bouncing some ideas around.
English

@RadarScope Yes, its still toggled on. When zooming in while opening the app, it sometimes does disappear but not all the time.
