The manosphere saved a generation of men from marriage by enabling them to see it from a cost benefit perspective, as opposed to an idealistic, romantic social obligation with minimal yields and maximum responsibility. Any benefits men gained from marriage historically can now be obtained outside of it. Men no longer need to marry to gain access sex due to the sexual revolution, and domestic appliances have replaced the labour of wives or female home makers. Any additional benefits do not justify the enormous risks of a man losing his home, savings, income, and access to his children. The manosphere is just guiding and empowering men so they can make an informed decision about marriage - including those who saw what marriage did to their boomer fathers and grandfathers. The modern world has given men the luxury of choice, and many of them are choosing "No I don't".

It drives me nuts when people simply blame “men!” for the fractured state of dating and relationships today. For decades, we’ve only supported and encouraged girls and women. We put boys on the back burner. We’ve blamed and shamed men for every societal ill. We tell them to “step up!” yet “step aside!” We tell them to “open up!” yet “shut up!” All we’ve given young men for decades is video games (ok but in moderation) and easy access to porn and now online betting. We shamed them into changing their expectations for women while women hold onto their traditional expectations without the shaming. Most young men are afraid to approach women today because they’re afraid of accusations. We’ve made it so difficult to be a man in the world today… and now we blame them for not “leveling up” and being “real men.” I don’t think “men” are the root problem in dating today… it’s society and how we’ve turned them into a punching bag.
