@jandelRblx Hey why do you say never to sign a contract with the option to buy more of the game later. I’m wondering what your reasoning is there

I made most of my success on Roblox through game acquisitions. I acquired and ran most of big wins that people talk about when you think of acquisitions. Here is my advice for developers if they are thinking of selling, or being approached by 10,000 different people asking to "buy" your game. YOU DONT HAVE TO SELL NEVER sign a contract with an option, right of first refusal or clauses to buy more of your game at a later date NEVER SELL MAJORITY THERE ARENT ANY SECRETS, most of these guys promise that they will help your game, like they are some secret keyholder to the algorithm... most of the people can't or won't help with your game. The business model is the following: buy a game, and wait for the algorithm to pick it up. If the algo picks it up, put a team on it. People offer big $$$ when they know your game is going to blow up, so if you are getting offers for millions of dollars, remember that your game is likely to earn that over its lifetime! There are a few times I suggest selling, if they are the right team, and are providing real value. For example, doing live ops, or only buying a small minority % so you can derisk incase the project performs badly. You can do it yourself and you will learn more in the process. So remember that!

Hot take: NEVER PAY CONTRACTORS UP FRONT. This practice has grown rampant on ROBLOX and it needs to be cut out like a plague. Milestone based payments are ok for big commissions but this whole '50% upfront, 100% upfront' BS needs to stop. Do not hire people who do this.

No. We shouldn't have to resort to this to get around an unfair moderation policy. AI moderation can take down assets it thinks are breaking the rules. Sure. But it should never automatically ban your account/game unless the asset was severely inappropriate and reviewed by a human. For example, my game and account got auto banned for having... a barcode in one my textures. Removing the asset is more than good enough why is an auto ban of the game and account necessary?

Made 1,316,805 Robux in 24 hours. My strategy has never been to build massive games that take months. I build lots of small games. Most of them make between 2k–20k Robux per day. With Roblox’s latest updates, PTR is one of the most important metrics, and thumbnails matter more than ever. So I focus on: • Finding trends early • Building fast • Launching fast • Testing constantly I’ve launched 10 games at the same time before. I hire people to build maps, use AI for thumbnails, and optimize for speed. A game doesn’t need 3 months of development. Many can be built and launched within a week. Speed wins. While others are polishing one game, you’re already testing your next 10. #roblox #robloxdev

Maybe I just grew up or maybe Roblox got bigger, were announcement threads on the devforum always filled with such obnoxious childish replies? devforum.roblox.com/t/update-on-sa… I don't think I'd have the patience to respond to people in there.

I’m so tired of these ngmi people reaching out to acquire my upcoming games they all have the exact same pitch “we are blah blah shitudio" "we’re interested in your game" "we can do this, we can do that” NGMI you can’t do shit you ask for the fucking stats of a brand-new game stats are completely irrelevant at this stage (new games) you either see the potential by playing it, or you don’t there are no stats that would convince me to buy a game I don’t like or don’t see potential in and there are no stats that would dissuade me from wanting to buy a game I do like and I do see potential in statistics are relevant for established games If I wanted to acquire Grow a Garden I would definitely dive deep into all the metrics and statistics but if I see an upcoming game and I like it I wouldn’t give a shit about anything in the creator dashboard the only message I’d send the owner would be: Hi, I want to buy your game $10,000? AND NOT “Hey, I am the Head of Operations OF Chief CIEFEYHFAFExecutive OperatorING of this shit studio.” NGMI I’m a visionary I SEE THINGS I FEEL THINGS I FEEL THE FUCKING MARKET I can tell if a game will work or not I don’t need numbers Numbers need me

Roblox has done what it has to do. The heat they were facing for child safety shortfalls would have lead to eventual takedowns / legal action. They had to pivot to keep the platform alive. Their stock suffered. They have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders to take measures for profitability. @haz3m_ has earned more than enough to pivot with the platform.

@BuildHero It’s funny how the ones who are most outspoken about this are also the same ones who constantly slam Roblox for not taking safety seriously

The backlash from the “Having Roblox+ publish games” makes no sense to me. $5/m to publish on a platform that offers hosting, data storage, and a massive global audience all while making the platform safer? Sign me up, now and forever. As a developer, if you can’t make that money back with a game then you may need to reconsider some things and assess why you’re actually mad at this situation. Back in the day you used to NEED Builders Club to publish more than 10 games, and OBC (20/month) to DevEx for that matter. And to my knowledge, with this change you’re still able to create and test games within groups without paying anything—just not publish publicly. Is there something I’m missing or misinformed on, because all of this seems rather performative?
