Not two weeks after all the Japan bros started asking the obvious and very reasonable question, "...but WHY do you all carry guns around like that?" coincidence, or God has given us this incredible gift; a video of an example specimen that couldn't be more perfect if it was the deliberate creation of an author. A 40-year old man banging on someone's door demanding to see their daughter, wearing huge nerd glasses, wearing a trenchcoat over an anime t-shirt ("Demon Slayer" no less) and wearing *sandals* to round out the show. At one point he says his name is "Harry Dresden," who's a wizard protagonist of the popular urban fantasy series "Dresden Files" (yes, we know about the "you become a wizard if you reach age 30 as a virgin" meme,) and when he leans in towards the camera and tries to act tough like an anime protagonist? We call this "chuuni," because it perfectly describes the syndrome better than any English word possibly can. Of all the feral creatures that infest the streets of our wide country, I can think of none more instantly intelligible to our Japanese brethren than this thing. So, anyway, imagine this guy comes up to your house's door, who weighs twice what your wife or daughter does, while you're not home, and starts trying to kick his way in. That's when you want them to have a gun.

@Snakeeater36 I think there are a lot of ways to serve, and the forest service is one. Something like the CCC would kick ass, where enlistees learn trade skills with heavy machinery building infrastructure in the US. Civil skills that could be recalled if needed in wartime.

I have a lot of mixed feelings over the whole conscription, selective service thing. I think there is a lot of value in public service, but I think there is a lot of thought we need to put into something like conscription or military service especially with the pride, we take in having an all volunteer military currently. I would say, if there was some sort of obligatory service requirement that combat arm specifically still be voluntary, and that any obligatory service requirement is treated almost as if it were a National Guard like position that kept those serving in their local areas. In addition, I would also make it something external from the military, I actually think it would be pretty cool if this service requirement also covered national parks and infrastructure, but there would also have to be a lot of thought into how that works from a rank and performance and participation structure. I think having an obligatory two year over a six year window so people attending colleges or other trade schools have the opportunity to do so without significant disruption to their lives.

I see a bunch of millennials are learning about selective service. Hot take: I think we should institute true conscription. Every American should serve at least 2 years. Don’t worry. The first 3 months will be boot camp. But your child will learn valuable lessons that will make them ready for the world. I’m speaking generally, because there’s still fuckups in the military, but by and large service makes you a better human being. It’s worth more than any amount of time in college.

Unofficial pages and groups with a military connection are magnets for bad actors looking to post divisive content and disinformation. It takes individual discernment and vigilance to self police these areas of the info environment.

Of course he’s a fucking ADA officer…… this is the kind of crybaby baby back bullshit I dealt with for years. Originally shared by @usawtfm . Hey @SecWar you want to improve morale? Remove senior leaders in units (especially those whose job is to shoot down planes and missiles) who think that this political correctness makes us a better fighting force. This dude gotta go.

You mean to tell me that the Chinese have been imitating other nations without their level of innovation and technological prowess? I can't believe it! Those social media accounts with Chinese flags and BRICS in their name were so certain that it was over for us!

The data from the hack at the Chinese super computer center included missile schematics and fusion simulations. If, as claimed, the hacker had access to this information for months, it shows massive security issues. Along with the recent purges and weapons failures, this hack shows serious problems in China's military industrial complex.
