"The price is too high nobody will buy it" So i went to newegg and I was able to get a rather similar parts based on the specs they have and i came with this : newegg.io/3c777cc I went to the 2TB version and ... i got rather similar prices?

@RainGuardz @RacialFeminist @Otichoo 5050 is similar if not a little bit faster than desktop 7600. And the steam machine is using the overclocked mobile version of it.

Exactly. There is no argument for the Greed...I mean Steam Machine... 1) "kids getting into gaming" don't spend $1050 2) Prebuilts are cheaper. 3) Consoles are cheaper. There's no argument people - stop regurgitating your canned Steam Machine defenses from a week ago.
Minarquista 🇪🇸@MinarquistaEsp

@mooreslawisdead You can get in a random Mediamarkt in Spain, a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32gb RAM, 1 tb ssd and RTX 5060ti for the same price. Valve just wants to milk fanboys.

@Holy_lettuce @ZGFTECH don't forget that the index got sold with 2 base stations which alone cost 150 at launch so 300 dollars was just for the base stations. The Index Controllers also cost 280 dollars. So 580 dollars just for those and the index headset was 500.

@ZGFTECH The index bundle was like $999 I don’t think it was gonna be any less than that

@ZGFTECH I can HARDLY thing this thing will be more then the index full kit. The full kit had the Base stations, The Controllers and the headset. I think a closer look would be just the headset and the controllers at most

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Cool don't agree as my PC has been running for a year and still is running like the day i built it. You completely ignore my points and call me ignorant. Im not fighting against doing research on what you by im fighting that the Gold+ rule has an actual weight to it.

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Find dude im literally telling you that your examples are from barely PSU brands or brands from the EU which i never heard of or can buy. And i have a 1050 Watt Gold+ Cybernetics Platinum PSU from Thermaltake. A brand i actually trust with newer PSUs

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote im sorry but this is pointless you clearly arent willing to be educated about actual pc building and part selection, go buy your rogslop and overpay for mediocre components...

@RainGuardz @sussybakapants @BlueThunderReal The mobile/laptop CPU used in the Steam Machine is equivalent to desktop 5600, so not far off The 5060 is like 30% faster than a 7600 with better upscaling tech (DLSS) than FSR

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Chieftec is a brand not even in the US so i never heard of it but seeing their testing half of their PSUs are garbage. 1st Player another relatively unknown brand. Acer only have 3 PSUs on the market as a whole. This goes into another rule. Get your components from known brands.

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Out of ALL Gigabyte's PSUs One Gold+ blew up. It's good to do research on what you buy but letting one PSU that's Gold+ turn you off from that rule is stupid. Just because it's a rule doesn't mean you see Gold+ you buy without looking into it. It means more likely it will be good

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote the problem is that isnt a consistent rule to follow therefore useless when determining what psu to get because u end up picking a random shit tier gold unit because "gold is good" and then u get a bomb

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote But more likely than not a Gold+ will have better components and performance. While you should still do your research it's more likely a Gold+ will be better.

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote i mean you literally just proved my point by saying they're "generally" better. it entirely comes down to exact model because its not a consistent rule you can follow.

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Once again. Im saying GENERALLY Gold+ are higher quality than bronze, not that Bronze PSU COULD be good. Generally you would just get better performance with a Gold+. Here is a Be Quiet rating and the Gold version has a C+ while the bronze has a E or C-

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote okay so here is an F-tier gold-rated psu and B-tier bronze-rated psu. I am not trying to say that the PSU OP picked was a good choice, just trying to help educate you on how psu ratings work

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Using the PSU from the Image above. I have this list of PSU testing and this PSU gets a C rating on this test sheet. With the performance varying based on batch.

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote That same thing applies to Bronze and Bronze is more likely to have cut costs. That's the whole reason it's cheaper too. They have a higher probability of failing compare to gold+

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote please explain to me how a more efficient psu has any relation to longevity. you can buy gold psus that have shitty rifle-bearing fans that will die in <3 years

@NicolasBT277 @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote Efficiency literally means how much power gets lost and transferred into heat. While there is good Bronze PSUs out there generally Gold+ is just the go to since they have more longevity promised tied to them.

@RainGuardz @Drybones5 @KodakCoyote efficiency literally means nothing in terms to psu quality, there are bronze units that I would trust more than platinum. it is nothing more than a rating of efficiency as the name suggests. it quite literally has nothing to do with noise, heat, features, etc.
