My thoughts after 70+ hours of Crimson Desert.
I knew right away that journalists would not rate this game as high as it deserves. If you're given limited time and need to power through a game like this to review it for your boss, you will resent it.
In fact, I resented it after the first couple hours. But once I began to understand the systems, adjust to the controls and get a bit more comfortable with the game, it quickly became something I could not put down. I was thinking about Crimson Desert 24/7.
Truthfully, the only real pain points of this game are the controls and systems and occasional clunkiness. But once you get some hours in, all of that goes away and you're left with a truly remarkable experience.
No game before this has matched this level of wonder and exploration and this level of pure scale, while also simply being FUN to play.
At first I thought that there was no way that they could cram all of these systems and mechanics into one game and make it feel satisfying and cohesive, but they somehow pulled it off.
Take your time with Crimson Desert, be patient and intentional with your time with the game, and you'll be rewarded handsomely. 🌩️

@BlueThunderReal Which monitor is the one you're showcasing?👀
English

Been flirting with the idea of buying an ultra wide monitor for a while now...
Bubbles: "Bubbles, controllllll yourself."
Also Bubbles: "But I neeeeeeeeeeeeed it!"

Playing Crimson Desert in real time on a 5K ultrawide monitor is mind blowing 🤯

@BlueThunderReal Wonderful game......wait, is that our controller?👀🐔

@GarethE_RSA Yeah im with you bro. I'm a father and the nature of my content involves me playing a ton of games and constantly switching. So, playing big open world games is usually not my thing. However, this REALLY clicked for me for whatever reason.
English

@BlueThunderReal Who actually enjoys such large maps. I assume you have to grind through a ton of side missions also plus a long storyline.
Games like Last of Us was amazing for me because it’s not bloated, has a great storyline and doesn’t demand a ridiculous amount of your life to finish.
English

@silverindow You left out “But once you get some hours in, all of that goes away and you're left with a truly remarkable experience.”

@teubryan @BlueThunderReal “Yeah bro the game is clunky af the controls suck the game has a terrible story character suck, the systems suck and i hated every minute of my experience with it until 20 hours when i get used to all the garbage. What a 10/10 banger of a game🗣️🔥🔥”
English

@Learii It’s rough and my biggest criticism. But you adjust eventually
English

@BlueThunderReal just 1 question for me what the controll layout for this game
English

@DoctorMemeMan It oddly enough hasn’t felt that overwhelming to me, probably because I’ve been doing a lot of the mainline quest
English

I’ve never seen a game this big before. Except maybe TotK, I guess? But there’s not much to do in that expansive space, so Crimson Desert beats it in that regard.
Maybe I’m just worried if there’s such a thing as too much game? Fortunately, none of the reviews say as such.

Playing Crimson Desert in real time to prove that YES, it’s that good. ⬇️
English

@Deck_Ready I also played on one. Xbox Ally X. Got about 40-50fps at low with FSR
English

@BlueThunderReal alright thankyou . how many hour you have on the game rn ?
English

This is the type of gameplay I’ve been wanting to see👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥Awesome job man! I seriously can’t wait to play this game!!

@sasaekun no difficulty, but some of these bosses will have you contemplating life.
English

@BlueThunderReal wait is there difficult in this game ?? or something like kcd 2 hardcore mode ?
English

@TheSweGooner @KBrox0 for me, I found joy in getting stronger and basically doing whatever I could imagine in a massive sandbox world.
English

@BlueThunderReal @KBrox0 It is, but let’s say it is not, what’s the purpose then?
English

@slowcowpoke Jake is an OG of the industry and one of the nicest people i've met in said industry. Also, it took me 8 hours to get good as well.
English

I kind of like this guy, but him saying “it takes 8 hours to get good” reinforces my idea on that I see him as a casual and insane guy at the same time. Just a guy that I sometimes value the lukewarm and at times decent opinions of.

CRIMSON DESERT starts rough. I honestly disliked the first 8 hrs. Once it opens up and you get more power + abilities, it's a TON of fun. So many gameplay systems but they don't feel cynical or half-baked. I wish there was a better story but combat/exploration hooked me 1/2
English

@NasaMcmahon87 thats valid bro im not mad at it. Im just saying when youre actually playing the game and immersed, you dont really notice the pop in.
English

@BlueThunderReal well enjoy the game, I have it preordered so I gotta be blunt with what I see from these reviews
English

@LeoGoneSavage @Makg594611 there's a ton more. Im just partial to that playstyle
English

@Makg594611 @BlueThunderReal I mean I have no idea…. Because that’s the only thing people pick. I heard that there are like 6 different weapons
English

@TheSweGooner @KBrox0 this is not a story game. not even close
English

@BlueThunderReal @KBrox0 If a story of a game of this sort is bad, then the game is not good.
