Sadly, telling the truth has been difficult for Cait throughout this campaign. However, the facts are clear: I passed the 7-year extension of the Undetectable Firearms Act last Congress, have introduced safe storage legislation, and co-sponsored universal background check legislation. In the state legislature, I voted for numerous gun and school safety provisions, including banning ghost guns, expanding red flag laws, enhancing criminal penalties, and requiring panic alarms in schools. Cait on the other hand supports New York’s disastrous cashless bail law, which allows those who use guns in the commission of a crime to be immediately released and raise the age, which allows 16 and 17-year olds to be charged in family court, rather than criminal court, when they use guns in the commission of a crime. If you want to address gun violence, actually prosecute those who use guns to commit crimes.

Our deepest condolences to @RepJimBaird and his family on the passing of his wife, Danise. We’re keeping the Congressman and his loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.
