Today, His Majesty the King visited the Canadian Cross of Sacrifice at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, USA. This monument honours the Americans who, moved by a sense of duty to fight for freedom, joined the Canadian Armed Forces in the years before the United States officially entered the First World War. It was later rededicated to all Americans who joined Canadian forces in the Second World War and the Korean War. His Majesty’s act of remembrance is a powerful reminder of the bonds between our countries.

This is ANZAC Day, remembering all the lives tragically lost in the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in WW1 - including many from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.

This was our back deck in April of 2021, just as we set off for London to begin the role of High Commissioner in the UK. Now, our first April back in Regina, the deck looks much the same!

After a day of events to mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday, we remember the life of the longest serving Monarch in history.

This coming week, we would be celebrating the 100th birthday of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her birth place is remembered on Bruton Street, just a few steps from Berkeley Square.
