@TheMattViera Be careful not to lifestyle inflate too much as your income increases. Invest early and consistently for wealth and health. Don't carry debt of any sort (unless you have a 2%mortgage). The goal is to retire in your 50's w/full health, and to not have to downsize your lifestyle.

@Greiser "Wealth buys time sovereignty" is very true. Build in all the moments you describe and, assuming u can preserve the lifestyle u enjoy, retire as early as u can. Enjoyed my career, but retired at 57 as time betwwen full health and the likely opposite can fly by far too quickly.

My neighbor spent about $80k on his son’s college finance degree.
His son graduated, filled out 105 applications, and couldn’t land a finance job.
Right now, he’s managing a Jimmy John’s while he “waits for a break.”
Then my neighbor said, “I’m going to introduce him to some of my friends so he can get an entry-level role.”
And it hit me.
