You we had landline phones, and long distance charges. No one says you need a $1000 phone and unlimited plan. We also had TV's that used free airwaves with an antenna that gave you around 6 channels (abc,CBS, NBC, fox, PBS and 1 or two local channels. Cable cost extra. Some years we had it, some we didn't. The things people THINK they need, they don't really. But seems like everyone's priorities changed.
