With limited headcount, the pressure to make the perfect hire is immense. Even after meeting strong candidates, many are holding out for a “perfect fit,” which drags out the process.
2. Recruiters Are Overloaded, and AI is Adding to the Chaos:
Recruiters are already juggling heavy workloads, and tools like LazyApply are flooding the system with mass applications. This volume makes it harder to identify genuine candidates, slowing down the process further.
3. Nice-to-Have vs. Need-to-Have Hiring:

This is certainly good news.
A pretty significant percentage of hiring managers are optimistic about their company's hiring opportunities for the remainder of 2024.
Over half of them are planning to increase headcount.
My guess is that the market sees a pretty solid uptick once LDW passes by & people are done with their summer vacations.
As many of my peers in the recruiting game will tell you, hiring kicks into overdrive into the fall to get through that last hiring push before HMs & decision makers start using up the rest of their PTO between Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
