Serving as Vice Chair of UNECA at the AYLDC conference was an incredibly rewarding experience, focused on empowering youth and fostering impactful dialogue for Africa’s future. Day Two marked the beginning of the simulation sessions, where participants were divided into three committees. I had the privilege of leading the second committee, which focused on sustainability, agriculture, and resource governance. Throughout the day, we engaged in insightful discussions and listened to well-articulated position papers presented by delegates from each committee. The depth of ideas, critical thinking, and passion demonstrated by the delegates was truly inspiring. We concluded the day by tasking each committee to develop their resolution papers in preparation for Day Three, setting the stage for actionable outcomes and continued collaboration.
