@Nomad66843968 @Oilfield_Rando Im a professional wildlife rehabber and Mouse didn't meet release criteria with his 11 siblings. We love him but i'd never intentionally seek one out as a pet 😅 Messy, needy and often stinky.

@Oilfield_Rando I was surprised a lot of states outlaw or regulated ownership.... but still... I want one... how does one get one?

@Beezerally @JakeThirteenth The pedialyte is absolutely something a rehabber would do! Just a little is fine. They can go quite a while without food/water but not very long without warmth. You're doing everything right! If you have trouble finding a sanctuary call some local vets. They usually can help!

Thank you! Already have him on the heating pad. Poor little guy was drenched, really cold and not doing well originally but he’s already starting to move all 4 legs and starting to look better. Mostly exhausted if I had to guess but I’m 💯 a novice at this. When we first searched out what to do, it suggested really tiny amounts of 50/50 Pedialyte and water so we’ve tried a couple times to do that and between the heat and the tiny bit of fluid from the dropper, that’s when he started to perk up a little. Of course we found him on a Sunday 😩 but we will call first thing in the morning to our vet and wildlife rescue. 🙏🏼 Any other advice to get him through the night is soo greatly appreciated.

@JakeThirteenth @Beezerally Hard to say based on a photo, but #1 for a baby squirrel is heat! Get it on a heating pad set on the lowest setting or a sock filled with rice and heated. Google your local wildlife rescue. Generally advised not to feed or offer water till rescue. Very easy to drown a weak baby.

@AngelaL15908072 If you cant find him a rehab until monday, cat kibble soaked in water works in a pinch short term.

@AngelaL15908072 Keep quite and dark in a box with a towel. You can offer a shallow dish of water for lapping. If you live in a state where it is legal to house opossums, in theory you could... but even though they are cuties I don't recommend it. Lots of dietary requirements and health problems
