@NaomiKowles Men are less likely to report domestic violence than women. Domestic violence is not a problem unique to men. Men also think differently than women. Were more facts about the alleged victim available, you’d see more empathy from men, who do not experience empathy abstractly.

as a packers fan i understand the football point of view but “what is the team gonna do w/o a running back” is the first thing every man is talking about instead of “the nfl has a domestic violence problem” and that’s part of why there’s a problem
Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

An absolutely brutal look for Josh Jacobs and a potential nightmare scenario for the Packers. Obviously the football comes secondary here but this is the last thing the Packers needed going into a key season. Just awful all the way around.

@ReddCinema When I was a young adult I lived just above the poverty line sharing an apartment and working full time. My black unemployed neighbors paid 60% of what we paid for an identical apartment. Two of them were college grads. They chose welfare over work.

@ReddCinema White people are ashamed to live in section 8 housing and feel a sense of accomplishment when they are able to get back on their feet and off of public assistance. Blacks just think public assistance is their birthright.

White South Africans are not refugees. They're immigrants being imported into America by the racists in the white house as they traffick People of Colour out of the country, because they're committing ethnic cleansing in an attempt to make the continental US a white ethnostate.
The Washington Post@washingtonpost

All but three of the 6,069 people admitted to the U.S. as refugees since October are from South Africa. The numbers reflect the transformation of the refugee program under the Trump administration. wapo.st/3PuDMcl

The biggest bullshit move by DHS in its history. So everyone on a O1 or H1B visa would have to stop working legally in the US, go back to their country and wait for years of backlog? This includes top scientists in our universities, founders of billion dollar companies (at least 3 just in our portfolio would be affected by the way). And if we look at individual countries it becomes even more bs. Indians would have to wait decades. Russians don’t have anywhere to go (there is no US embassy in Russia, hello?).

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

@hdpayens You don’t understand Luther or the Lutheran Confessions. Read the Book of Concord.

Thomas Aquinas taught that faith alone saves, two centuries before Martin Luther. Wait. Read that again. Aquinas didn't teach sola fide. He taught something far more precise, and his precision is exactly why Luther's formulation fails. In the Summa Theologiae (I-II, Q. 109), Aquinas asks whether faith alone is sufficient for salvation. His answer: no. Not because faith doesn't matter, but because faith divorced from charity is a dead thing. It is "unformed faith," fides informis, which even demons possess. The real category is fides caritate formata. Faith formed by charity. Faith that is alive because grace has actually transformed the soul from within. This is the key distinction Protestants often miss. Luther treated justification as a legal declaration. God pronounces you righteous while you remain, in Luther's own words, "simul justus et peccator," simultaneously just and a sinner. The righteousness stays outside you, imputed but not infused. Aquinas saw something different in Scripture. Romans 5:5: "The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit." Not credited to our account. Poured in. Infused grace actually changes you. The theological virtues, including faith, are real habits of the soul, not legal fictions. So when Trent defined justification against Luther in Session VI, it wasn't inventing new theology. It was defending Aquinas. And Aquinas was defending Paul. The debate was never faith vs. works. It was always: does grace transform you, or merely cover you? Which answer does Romans 5:5 actually support?

NEW: Judge apologizes in court to WHCA Dinner shooting suspect Cole Allen. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui said that he was “fascinated and disturbed” by Allen's treatment in jail. Allen was placed on suicide watch when he was first imprisoned. Prosecutors argued that since Allen told investigators he did not expect to survive the alleged attack, he could be a danger to himself. But an incredulous Faruqui wasn't convinced by that argument, drawing comparisons between Allen and defendants arrested for rioting at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. “To me, it’s extremely disturbing that he was put in five-point restraints, a person with no criminal history. It’s troubling. I never heard of one Jan. 6 defendant who was put in five-point restraints or in a safe cell. If the only way to keep him safe is the most punitive thing, that’s a problem.” “At a minimum, I should be apologizing to him. We are obligated to make sure he’s taken care of. Mr. Allen, I’m sorry that things have not been the way they are supposed to.”

“If Britain was an American state, how wealthy would it be? How many American state are wealthier than the UK in terms of GDP per capita? The answer will shock you.” They did a poll and most British people thought Britain would rank around 7th richest. They were way off. In terms of GDP per capita, even Mississippi, often seen as America’s poorest state, is richer. That would make Britain the poorest state in America on that ranking. The funny part is how confident people were that Britain would rank much higher. When the interviewees were asked why Britain feels poor, the answered; lack of opportunity, high taxes, rising cost of living, and wages not matching their American counterparts. Who knew Britain was this poor?
