@Casdnova_Flame @RoadFFxiv @QuattroMKII I don’t remember which episode they said the staff is generating Dust for Atlas, but if I had to guess, Ambrosius probably makes a comment about it when he’s first summoned. If not it’s mentioned earlier when speaking about the staff or Atlas’ floating system.

Yeah, Ironwood's "fuck off to space" plan is really dumb, but it was also the only plan that even came close to an actionable and tangible solution. In comparison, Team RWBY's plan boils down to "cross our fingers and hope it gets better".

Back in the day, my pirate ancestors would hunt the merchant vessels and plunder coastal areas in search for valuable loot; spices like vanilla were often amongst the most prized of cargoes. Today I was able to re-enact that in the waterpark alongside my nephews. The vanilla ice cream was quite good too.

Atlas’ tech still ran on dust and dust would still have stopped to function in space. So no, Ironwood’s plan was just to bring Atlas higher in the atmosphere, and Monstro could very much follow

The fact that both Ironwood and Harriet act like doing their DUTY is far too risky is very telling. After hearing Salem’s coming James should’ve stepped up the rescue of Mantle not the opposite.

It’s a major plot point of V7 that Ironwood and his army *weren’t* protecting Mantle in the first place.

@RoadFFxiv @QuattroMKII High atmosphere. If they actually went to space Atlas’ Dust-based tech would have stopped functioning and they’d crash down on the ground. The biggest problem with that plan is that Salem can just fly up to get them anyway

@notsirradington @LordFerpez And that’s *before* getting into how his retreat was self-destructive and would have just led to Salem winning anyway even if he had gotten his way.

@notsirradington @LordFerpez Proper military procedure for an evacuation would have been to move civilians onto Atlas while the army is fighting the Grimm. Not forbidding from evacuating them. Per standard military doctrine, Ironwood’s plan was fundamentally broken and backward.
