Love this 👇🏾 "And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would BLESS me INDEED, and ENLARGE my TERRITORY, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God GRANTED him what he REQUESTED. 1 Chronicles 4: 10

Karen Nyamu MUST step down or be removed from the Senate!! What happened to that student in Senate was deeply inappropriate and honestly very uncomfortable to watch. A child walked into a national institution under a school program and somehow ended up being spoken about in a suggestive manner by an adult holding public office. And no, we will not reduce this to “Karen just being Karen..” There are certain lines that should never be crossed, especially when children are involved!! A young girl should be able to walk into Senate and leave feeling inspired, respected and safe, not embarrassed, sexualized or turned into the center of inappropriate remarks in front of an entire room and the country. Public office comes with responsibility, maturity and self-control. If someone cannot understand the weight of their words around minors, then they honestly should not continue occupying such a position. And honestly, this entire situation raises very serious questions about how Karen Nyamu even ended up in the Senate in the first place. Who nominates these people? What exactly is the criteria? What values are being rewarded? What kind of conduct qualifies someone to represent Kenyans at that level? Because if this is the standard being normalized in our public institutions, then we genuinely have a deeper crisis as a country. An apology alone is not enough. There must be accountability.

I continue to stand in awe of Dr. Besigye. He was abducted and put in remand for over 500 days, his health has deteriorated, and still he walks into the courtroom with a quiet, determined stance. It reminds you that dignity is its own form of resistance. I am back in Kampala today as part of his legal team. From the beginning, this case has been defined by illegality, deliberate delays, and systematic violations of due process. Our resolve to stand against that has not wavered. Our Jumuiya continues to face threats of democratic erosion, but we continue to stand against it. Aluta Continua!

Wealth without wisdom is a curse. Men who chase money without mission end up building prisons made of luxury. Build wealth that outlives you and teach your sons about stewardship, not spending. Legacy is not what you leave behind but it is who you raise and what they continue even after you have gone.

GRAPHIC PHOTOS: There is a trending conversation on Kenyan X about the deteriorating Public Health System. This is a conversation that never ends. The public health system gets worse every year because we have allowed politicians to infiltrate the health system. Governors, Senators and MCAs influence the structure, resources and frameworks that govern the public health sector. They decide who receives supplies, who receives resources and what framework runs the system. All this is to siphon resources allocated to the delivery of public health services. They cripple our health sector, but when they fall sick, they fly abroad. The photos you are seeing were taken by me back in 2019 when I was heading a public hospital. This woman had been assaulted by her husband after an evening quarrel because of food. When she came to the emergency department, her ear was dangling like a soot strand hanging precariously from my grandmother's hut. In the emergency department, at the minor theatre, in the emergency tray: • There were no stitching needles or surgical sutures. • There were no sterilised packs. • There was no lignocaine for local anaesthesia. I had no choice but to fix her earlobe. This was the time when NHIF revenue allocation had just been transferred from the Hospital Management Team to the County Treasury, where County Officials decided who, when, and how much hospitals would receive to fund their budgets. So, because there were no supplies, I had to beg the maternity matron for them, promising to replenish them. I did the work. I fixed the earlobe and discharged her. She didn't have any money with her, which was, of course, obvious, given the family's disagreement over food. So, I had to dip into my pocket to buy Lignocaine, sutures and Jik to sterilise the pack I had borrowed. The public health system has been in a mess because self-serving politicians distorted the spirit of devolving the health function. These politicians spend county resources on buildings, aesthetics, decor, colour, and public relations exercises, except for the basics like: • Adequate supplies. • A motivated health care staff. • A reliable and accessible system. Unless we overhaul the entire system of political brinkmanship and wheeler-dealers, Unless we say enough is enough and commit ourselves to draining the swamp, Unless we stop glamorizing corruption, Unless we stop sterilizing negative ethno-chauvinist politicians, Unless we stop pretending to detest corruption, yet when it favours us, we say it is "God's Grace," — We shall continue gnashing our teeth, year in and year out. The people who are silent when doctors, clinicians, nurses and other healthcare staff are complaining about dwindling public health services are the same people who silently collude with corrupt politicians to supply substandard resources in our public hospitals. Last week, Lt Gen Daniel Ishmael Ojijo Opande was in Sierra Leone, receiving the country's highest award. It was a massive fete, beamed across Africa for its huge significance. Kenyan media of course missed it, so I watched it live on some French channel. In many UN circles, Gen Opande is considered the finest soldier ever born in Africa. The award by Sierra Leone's president and the military was in recognising Opande as the man who birthed peace in the country, following his firm and uncompromising disarmament exercises targeting rebels in that country, at the peak of its civil war, and while he served as UN Force Commander there (an appointment which incidentally, happened only because Moi wanted to bypass him for CGS). Anyway, that is not even the story for today. It is while watching Opande at the ceremony that I remembered that he is 84, and therefore older than Oburu. Then it hit me that Gen Tonje is 86, while Gen Mahmoud Mohamed is 95! These guys are still strong, they walk straight and have amazing mental agility. In fact, of all 11 Kenyan chiefs of the military since independence, only Maj Gen Joseph Musyimi Ndolo and Gen Jackson Kimeu Mulinge have died. Mohamed joined the military in 1955, is still going strong at 95, very long after retirement, and will still be eating many Idds with us. What this taught me last week is that being a military officer is the best way to live long into the 80s and 90s and still look at 100 years with assured arrogance.

The impeachment of @rigathi as a duly elected Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya would not have been possible without the total support of @TheODMparty in both Houses of Parliament . The commendable courage of SG @edwinsifuna in admitting that his Party was used to kick out “Huyo Mtu Wa Shares “just for them to demand the same shares, not only exposes the hypocrisy in our politics, but also confirms that there was no basis or justification for the removal of a duly elected DP and the President used, misused and abused his office and our Houses of Parliament to settle political scores! We shall revisit this issue!

DEAR PRESIDENT WILLIAM SAMOEI RUTO, These are officers from Nderi Police Post in Kikuyu. They have now decided that young people should not even play pool. What exactly is wrong with pool? Why not just come out clearly and announce that playing pool is banned for youth in Kenya? Mr President, when your government gives young people KSh 22,000 to start small businesses, many of them invest in simple ventures like pool tables and entertainment joints because there are no other jobs. Then the same government sends officers to harass them, beat them, destroy their equipment, and chase them away, yet they have committed no crime. What kind of leadership is this? One day, you invite them to State House and hand them money. The next day, your government is in the villages slapping, kicking, and whipping the same young people. What kind of administration gives hope with one hand and crushes it with the other? These young men voted for you in 2023 because you called yourself a Hustler like them. You told them you understood their struggles. After this treatment, do you really expect them to ever dream of voting for you again, even if you give them millions? This is not empowerment. This is humiliation.
