The overwhelming majority of mortgage holders can walk away tomorrow with a 6 figure untaxed pay day.
Renters can't.
Eventually rates will be cut and mortgage holders will be thousands a month better off, but rents wont fall like that, because that would be bad.

Australia already builds more homes per capita than 90%+ of the OECD.
As long as the federal govt is committed to extremely high rates of immigration, these demographic issues and others are going to be brought to the forefront.
Because we cant build our way out of this.
