Mobland Season 2 was majority filmed by me. Strand-on-the Green, Chiswick House, Chiswick Police Station. Tom Hardy was on set early doors (ask the Mums who were doing school drop-off 🤣) and often late into the evening. I spoke to SCORES of crew, some main actors and a handful of extras (some of whom I'm still in contact with) There was NEVER even a hint of this being an unhappy set. This seems VERY odd.
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm

Tom Hardy has been fired from ‘MOBLAND’ and won't return for Season 3. He allegedly clashed with producers after being consistently late to set and attempting to give notes & change dialogue on the series. (Source: puck.news/newsletter_con…)

No hybrids, no energy recovery systems, no clipping... Waking up your feed with the Williams FW26 & the sound of a V10 BMW F1 engine, which revved close to 19,000 RPM. #F1

@JohanMV No need to belittle the English but yes... The presence of so many Black players in the mid - late 90s Arsenal team + the coming of satellite TV to Africa at that time (thanks, @MultiChoice!) + slick marketing by the Barclays @premierleague + @ManUtd rivalry = football magic.

NYC is no longer a city, it is an algorithm. If you live in, say, Cincinnati, when you go to get ice cream with your friends, you really are just going to get ice cream with your friends. In NYC, this is not possible. You cannot just go to get ice cream, because, against your will, you are very self-consciously “someone who lives in NYC, going to get ice cream with their friends, in NYC.” You are never able to achieve full presence of mind because you are constantly placing yourself inside a chapter in some made up, schizophrenic and highly disorienting book. Put another way, as a New Yorker, you do not live in a city, but a massive, procedurally generated simulation of one. You are nothing more than a vapid unit of flesh and bone trapped since a Baudrillardian infinity mirror, where the references have their own references. You become more of a vague concept than a real person—some strange, soulless mix of ambition and violent/sexual impulses—and in your constant confusion you fail to ever become a true subject. You pay $17 for the ice cream cone. Then, you pull out your list of saved Instagram Reels which tell you where to get reservations for pasta later. When you arrive, you find yourself stuck in yet another long line, with people who look just like you. The longer you wait in lines like these, the harder it becomes to ever recover the soul of the person you were before you moved into your East Village studio.

@MissBeck12 @MarioNawfal They speak Afrikaans. There's about as much genocide in South Africa as there is in Palestine. Which is, zero. That said, there WILL be genocide in SA once the locals - who are idiots - bankrupt the state thanks to welfare, so those who can get out should get out now.

@MarioNawfal I'm okay with this. White South Africans are civilized farmers facing genocide by uncivilized barbarians. They speak English, they will contribute to our society, they will assimilate with our culture.

🇺🇸 🇿🇦 The Trump administration is proposing to raise the U.S. refugee admissions ceiling to 17,500, exclusively for White South African Afrikaners. -Last year's refugee cap was 7,500, focused on Afrikaners -New proposal raises that to 17,500 -The Trump administration cites "government-sponsored race-based discrimination" against Afrikaners in South Africa -Trump has pointed to murders of White farmers and land confiscation policies -The South African government has implemented expropriation without compensation laws targeting White-owned farmland -Crime statistics show farm attacks have been a serious issue for decades The South African government's own Expropriation Act, passed in 2024, allows the state to seize land without paying owners. Senior ANC officials have openly chanted "kill the Boer" at political rallies. The country's murder rate is among the highest in the world, and farming communities have been hit disproportionately hard. Refugee status isn't supposed to be a popularity contest. It's supposed to go to people facing real persecution. Whatever the global media wants to label them, Afrikaners are watching their property rights stripped, their communities targeted, and their leaders ignored by international institutions. That's a textbook refugee case. America has historically opened its doors to the persecuted. This should be no different. Source: CNN

Members of the UK’s elite hunter killer unit Task Force Black, photographed under the Hands of Victory in Baghdad, 2007. Less than 150 men. Five years of work. A body count that helped break Al Qaeda in Iraq. The composition was the magic. 22 SAS shooters, the Special Forces Support Group, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, 18 Signal Regiment, and a tightly woven net of intelligence operators. From 2004 to 2009, this small force took down more than 3,500 terrorists and dismantled AQI’s leadership pipeline night after night. By the time they were disbanded in May 2009, the mission was finished. The enemy they were built to hunt had been reduced to a fraction of itself. One of the most successful and least publicized special operations campaigns of the Iraq War.

@SimeonBrownMP Oh he'll be looking to tax us more. Only, he won't call it a tax. It'll be a levy. He'll then run to his leftie media friends for support, and they'll all run cover for him. Hipkins is a liar. What a disgraceful little man.

Labour is hiding a $3b fiscal hole and is blaming the Treaty. In an extraordinary move, Labour has pivoted from blaming ‘market sensitivities’ for not saying which state-owned companies will be in their Future Fund to blaming the Treaty instead. This is a new frontier from Labour in their efforts to not come up with policy. In the history of New Zealand politics, there has never been an opposition so unwilling to have any ideas that the Treaty of Waitangi has been blamed for not having done basic costings. The more likely explanation is Labour has worked out they have a multi-billion-dollar fiscal hole and can’t explain how it would fill it without higher taxes or more debt. Chris Hipkins knows he has two choices: come clean with New Zealanders about Labour’s secret tax plans or hide from the problem altogether until after the election - and it’s clear he has chosen the latter. Labour’s Future Fund relies on diverting dividends from state-owned enterprises into the fund. Those dividends currently help pay for frontline public services like schools and hospitals. That means Labour would need to replace up to $3 billion in lost revenue over the next four years - money that can only come from higher taxes, more borrowing, or cuts elsewhere. It has been more than 200 days since Labour announced the Future Fund, and Chris Hipkins cannot explain the most basic detail – how much will it cost, which SOEs are involved, and how will Labour pay for it?

Just going to say this now: As much as I don't like public servant wastage, this is stupid. Willis is making a populist move that solves one problem by replacing it with another. This will screw Wellington as a city and region. nzherald.co.nz/nz/public-serv…
