As I celebrate my birthday today, I have decided that for the rest of year, every day I share a song that I like. Music has helped in my lowest moments. Hope it helps others too!

An epidemiologist would ask 2 questions after admitting that the extent of effect is incorrectly exaggerated - 1. Is the direction of effect correct? 2. Does the direction matter more than the extent from a pragmatic policy pov?

If you have a basic understanding of physics you’d immediately question this. Do you know what insane temperature the data centre would need to generate to warm the land by 1 degree multiple miles away? Let alone 16 degrees? Nobody at cnn did think something is off here?

My mum was my surgeon when I was 6, bumped into a moving rickshaw head-on, and broke a small chunk of my nose. She's super proud of the job she did that day. PS: my wife loves the "shape of my nose". Her words. So, she's forever indebted to my surgeon :)

Research shows that A.I. bots agreeing with you on everything can cause harmful delusions. Now apply this to billionaires. Everyone around them is a sycophant, says yes, agrees with them. Because of this, billionaires suffer from harmful delusions. Billionaires have brain damage.

Thanks @sherrywren and @elliotthaut for making these points towards equitable publishing 1. Articles from first, corresponding, or senior authors from low-income countries and LMICs should be exempt from APC charges. 2. The APC charges should be kept to a minimum for all researchers whose publishing fees are not covered by a grant or an institutional publishing agreement, regardless of country income level, to allow scientists and readers from all areas to publish and access relevant research without barriers. #APC #EquitablePublishing Surgery Journal Editors Recommend a New Approach to Article Processing Charges jamanetwork.com/journals/jamas…

The claim that Gujarat’s GST revenue is FOUR times higher than Kerala’s GST revenue is FALSE TRUTH: Per capita SGST collected during FY 2025–26 (up to 28 February 2026)👇🏻 Gujarat = ₹9,166 Kerala = ₹10,435 Source: CAG Monthly Key Indicators and UIDAI Population Projection

Bad analysis. You should not control for these factors, because they all are downstream of gender on the causal pathway. Think about Mad Men S1. There was no pay gap between men and women when you controlled for gender - because women were prohibited from high paying positions.
i/o@avidseries

Payscale is concerned about the controlled gender pay gap — that is, the gender pay gap after all compensable factors are accounted for. It gravely intones: "The gap should be zero. It's not zero." The amount of the existing gap? One cent on every dollar.

very strange to attend a seminar about AI in the classroom and hear a bunch about "privacy concerns" but nothing about the cognitive effects MIT has found, the homogenizing effects on writing Google has found, hallucination, sycophancy, AI psychosis, etc. Just very odd

I review the statistics in ~200 manuscripts a year for some of the top urology journals in the world. Here's what I actually do — and the mistakes I see in almost every paper. 🧵

My education policy is: No Indian man should be allowed to touch a math/science book until they excel at psychosexual curriculum (PSC) from Std 1-5. Start other subjects later. They'll catch up. But PSC is important for their sake & that of the entire Indian society & diaspora.

Chiraiya also showed Kamlesh’s husband in the same series who respects his wife, loves her, cares for her, understands her, is supportive and stands for her like a strong pillar. Most men here call this series propaganda, you know why? Because they know in their heart that they aren’t that kind of man. They relate with the man who doesn’t understand consent, who forces himself on his partner like an animal and goes to any length to ravage her.

This issue needs to be addressed. Even inside a marriage, consent & comfort of the female partner is necessary to be intimate. Throughout my career as a sexologist, women hv regularly complained to me that even otherwise affectionate husbands use them as disposable cups, or sleeping pills in sex. In all heterosexual relationships, consent is necessary. And regular sex is just as important a necessity to the adult female, as it is to the male. Meaning, adequate time for foreplay- the type that the female partner likes/longs fr shd be provided by the male. The Male arousal is different from the female. Manliness during the sexual act is crucial. The male can achieve a roaring erection in 5 seconds. But the female arousal takes many minutes of foreplay that she is interested in. Only then adequate secretions/ lubrication is achieved inside the Vagina for penetration. Penetration, even inside a marriage without consent/ adequate pleasurable foreplay for the female will invariably result in unbearable pain/sometimes injuries in the pvt parts/ fear/ secondary Vaginismus in the female, sometimes making future penetration impossible/ very difficult. Btw, the terms Vaginismus, Dyspareunia, Vulvodynia are different. Vaginismus = Involuntary Strong tightening/contraction of Pelvic floor muscles, rendering penetration impossible/difficult. Dyspareunia = Penetration occurs, but is painful due to some other reason( eg infection, dryness, endometriosis,PID etc) Vulvodynia = Pain in her pvt parts, without any obvious reason, even outside an intimate situation. The Female Orgasm is just as important as Male Orgasm,& the male partner shd be ever mindful of this. Thousands of marriages hv ended in divorce, bc of lack of awareness on the part of the male partner of this crucial fact.
Netra Sharma@Netra_sharma0

The men defending this scene in #Chiraiya are clueless about a woman body. Forced sex without arousal, consent & lubrication can lead to vaginal tearing, severe inflammation, excruciating pain & tissue damage in her private parts. Marriage isn't a license to mutilate. NO MEANS NO

Can use the last 24 hrs data on this site to estimate the prevalence of potential rapists in India. Will need some bias correction. But is possible. Going to try and figure out if can nail IPs to geolocate some of you. Will be a very helpful tool for women and law enforcement.

Is it a first? A nursing graduate becoming the health minister? Usually, it is doctors who get to hold such powerful positions Will it make a difference in health policy when it’s framed by a nurse? Will Nepal’s health policy reflect the difference?
AIIMS, New Delhi 🇮🇳@aiims_newdelhi

AIIMS New Delhi congratulates its alumna Ms. Nisha Mehta (BSc Nursing 2006–2010) on her appointment as Health Minister of Nepal. Her achievement is a proud moment for the entire AIIMS community, especially the nursing fraternity. We wish her success in her new role.
