@fpgahelper Being able to import files from high-end ECADs is nice of course. But with no proper back-annotation between sch/pcb and no pin/gate swap I have to work harder compared to a 20 yr old Eagle. KiCad seems to focus a lot on eye-candy and not workflow.

Speaking of things you get in KiCAD that you don't get in other places. KiCAD will flag you text when it is illegible and FORCE you to make it legible. What if I want my text to a big smudge on the board, I thought this was America. LOL.

@matseng @SipeedIO Well, since you said "absolute temperature" I didn't think you'd be satisfied with a ballpark indication😉 Anyways a useful trick is to add a piece of black PVC tape which has a nice emissivity for IR temp measurements. Metallic resistors and other shiny stuff can be WAY off.

@RasmusBackman @SipeedIO Yea, I've noticed that on my cheap contactless IR-thermometers. But can't I at least not have a ballpark indication if whether it's 80 or 120c regardless of emissivity on a pcb? My finger will just say HOT! for those temps ;-)
