AI has ripped through small businesses like a plague. Every gift shop, food truck, café, it's even hitting the antique stores. All of them transformed into a simulacrum of a "cozy" business, entirely crafted by AI. It's ice-nine for Middle America.

@VULFHAUSE_ I don't remember the exact logic but this is the strategy I created from scratch to help my raid team complete the Red Rover challenge in DSC. It actually worked and to this day remains one of my favorite achievements in D2.

@eki_bayye @StriderLA03 @theboredgrim It's 50/50. If Marathon succeeds they could have your perspective but they could just as easily go "okay, Marathon is stable so we'll just leave it at that." That's why saying Marathon has to do well to guarantee a D3 is just a baseless emotional appeal.

@DustinWill4791 @theboredgrim Reality is he could probably light the Sony money on fire and still be perfectly fine. He has it made and I'm happy for him. I'm not saying his stance isn't respectable, my point is the people saying "just wait till the money dries up" evidently don't realize how much he has.

@eki_bayye @StriderLA03 @theboredgrim The people who keep saying "rooting for Marathon to fail is rooting for D3 to never happen" act like Marathon money won't just be used to sustain Marathon. At this rate it'll take longer for Marathon to be profitable enough to fund a D3 than if we crowdfunded it ourselves.

@StriderLA03 @theboredgrim I mean sure, it’s worth a shot and I’ll be playing D2 for a couple weeks after June 9. The more likely scenario is they’ll see that and go “nice but D2 hasn’t been profitable in half a decade.” Also I hate to say it but D2 is not breaking 150k on 9th, and that’s being generous

@DustinWill4791 @theboredgrim If he's smart with his money he's almost certainly set for life by now. With a wife and what, two kids now, I'm sure he wouldn't be gambling his Sony partnerships if it could send them to the soup kitchen.

@theboredgrim I applaud the man risking that kind of money to stand by what he personally believes. Not a sellout which he could have easily been but its gonna hurt him wallet wise. I just dont think sony cares after Concords live service collapse and marathon not popping off they scared

@misatomaxxing @Luca6e Beyond Light had a special type of magic to it. Frigid Tomb, Whiteout, Desolation, Athanasia, Reboot, and of course Lullaby. It's always been my favorite expansion.
Still not quite sure why it worked, but I used to listen to Whisper of the Worm to hype myself up before my exams.

I’ve worked on a lot of games over the years and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to learn about how this franchise affected so many players’ lives. The global reach is really impressive to witness. I’ve not seen such an outpouring of affection for a series, in the gaming world, to the level I’ve seen with this game. Pretty spectacular, warriors.

@DestinyNostalgi You don't have to backtrack. This has nothing to do with Destiny. It's the culmination of the $100M stake in Bungie NetEase bought in 2018. Now we know Bungie sold out their IP rights for a cash injection and this is the ripple effect we get years later.

…I didn’t like the reveal because it barely resembles the Destiny that I love, but in all honesty even D2 barely resembles that so I can’t necessarily hate on Netease when the degradation of Destiny’s visual identity has been happening for years now.
