Vince Vaughn and Theo James start filming for director Z. Craig Zahler's new film in Toronto this month. Zahler is a cult filmmaker and also a writer, novelist, and composer. His new project is a period gangster film titled The Bookie and the Bruiser, centered on two WWII veterans, Rivner (James), a Jewish man, and Boscolo (Vaughn), an Italian American, as they return home and struggle to rebuild lives they no longer feel part of. No release date is set yet.

Panic Room is 24 years old today.
It’s a technical marvel, but I find this Jodie Foster thriller to be David Fincher’s least interesting film. It feels like he challenged himself to make the most gripping movie possible without leaving the house. Solid... just not Fincher-great.
