Funny enough, in 1997, soldiers from a so called “third world” country were securing and evacuating over a thousand foreign nationals while many first world governments depended on them on the ground. Before talking down on the Nigerian military, tell us where you’re from. Let’s compare military history. Does your country’s record extend beyond colonial campaigns and invading weaker neighbours, or are you from one of those countries whose military has barely featured in modern expeditionary operations?

I watched the 3 mins 49 secs video. It was a waste of time. Like a poorly scripted movie.., Just soldiers walking in the bush, then enter water…some even off their boots to cross the river (people in a supposed active war zone ooo) Air craft flew, then miraculously they saw the children in somewhere that looks like an abandoned school, They didn’t find the bandit, but even anything related to them… These people takes us for fools…

Too many holes in the story. He most likely came to train non-special forces personnel. You’re not going to be teaching SBS or Belarusian/Pakistan trained special forces operators how to shoot or special COIN tactics because they’ve got probably more combat experience in that domain. Also, US military training in Nigeria is typically focused on basic training, capacity building, and joint exercises. Let me tag someone if he’s willing to share his opinion on the video @optama
