Irrigated tobacco at week 3. Variety K75 from Kutsaga (30 ha). Now preparing for top dressing with Ammonium Sulphate and fungicide application (Azoxystrobin). The beauty of being in a country and region without cold winters.

I hope INNSCOR develops coffee shops. Zimbabweans need more coffee to be a lot more efficient and mentally active. Too much Sadza in the city centres and factories is pulling this country backwards.

Marange Rising: Delivering Water, Delivering Vision 2030 In the sun-scorched plains of Marange, within Mutare West Constituency in Manicaland, the promise of inclusive development is no longer a distant aspiration but a lived reality. True to his enduring pledge of “leaving no one and no place behind,” President Emmerson Mnangagwa continues to translate Vision 2030 from policy into practical transformation, particularly for communities that have long stood on the margins of national development. Marange lies in Natural Regions 4 and 5, areas defined by arid and semi-arid climatic conditions where rainfall is scarce and unreliable. For much of the year, open water sources dry up, exposing both people and livestock to severe hardship. In such an environment, water is not merely a convenience; it is the foundation of survival, productivity and dignity. It is against this backdrop that the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme has emerged as a lifeline, restoring hope to communities that have endured recurring droughts and water insecurity. The project, being implemented by leading government contractor Prevail Group International, provides a compelling case study of efficient and results-driven delivery. Tasked with drilling 27 boreholes in Mutare West Constituency, the company had, at the time of reporting, successfully drilled and commissioned 24 boreholes that are now fully operational. This impressive rate of execution reflects not only technical capacity but also a shared commitment to the President’s vision of inclusive growth. Such efficiency deserves recognition. It underscores the importance of strategic partnerships between government and capable implementers who understand that development must be timely, tangible and transformative. By appointing effective implementation partners, President Mnangagwa has ensured that policy pronouncements are matched by visible impact on the ground. The benefits of these boreholes extend far beyond immediate access to water. They strengthen livelihoods by enabling small-scale irrigation and nutrition gardens, thereby improving household food security in drought-prone areas. They stimulate local economies by supporting village enterprises and livestock production. They promote better health outcomes through access to clean and safe water, reducing the prevalence of waterborne diseases. They also restore dignity, particularly for women and children who previously travelled long distances in search of water, often at the expense of education and productive time. In Marange today, the sound of flowing water is a powerful affirmation that Vision 2030 is not an abstract ambition but a working programme of national renewal. Mutare West stands as testimony that when leadership is focused and implementation is efficient, even the most arid landscapes can be transformed into spaces of opportunity and hope. @PresFunds @edmnangagwa @ZimThirdEye @ByronDZ93 @chabatatafguy @chrissy10charu @TinotendaGacha1 @ZANUPF_Official @zanupf_patriots

NO STORY IS MORE RIVETING THAN THE STORY OF OUR LIBERATION STRUGGLE: I keep telling young journalists that the one story which never loses its hold over national imagination is that to do with the Liberation Struggle! I can’t understand why even the newly established community radios are not branding themselves around this one beat. They, after all, live among these heroes!!!!

@dabskays You made a good call. Besides kuti MA transporters awandisa, the decentralization of floors to areas such as Mvurwi, Karoi, Marondera and Rusape has reduced the cost of transporting tobacco bales. Then lastly you add roadblocks, it's better to park.

As Minister of Primary and Secondary Education It has come to my attention, with deep concern, that nine learners from a Harare school were unjustly barred from sitting for their Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) examinations due to what was deemed “inappropriate” hairstyles. This action, taken by the school authorities, is not only a violation of the learners’ right to Education but also a direct contravention of the Ministry’s standing policy on inclusive and non-discriminatory access to examinations. Let me be unequivocally clear Public exams are sacrosanct and no amount of pupil indiscipline, unless life-threatening, should bar anyone from accessing their constitutional right to education. Following a thorough investigation, I can confirm that the school Head and Director responsible for this unlawful exclusion have been arrested and are currently assisting law enforcement with further inquiries. We commend the swift action taken by the authorities to uphold justice and protect the rights of our learners. As the Ministry, we are taking immediate steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur. This includes: ✅️Issuing a directive to all schools reiterating the inviolability of examination access for all registered candidates. ✅️Engaging with school heads and administrators to reinforce professional conduct and adherence to Ministry guidelines. ✅️Providing support to the affected learners and their families, including exploring avenues for them to sit for their missed examinations. We urge all education stakeholders to prioritize the welfare and rights of learners above all else. Education is a fundamental right, and it is our collective duty to safeguard it.

Our potato 🥔 project in the Norton Sandringhum area so far, we’ve invested about USD 6,000 in inputs alone, with a total budget of USD 8,000 for the 1 hectare plot. We’re expecting a minimum yield of 30 tonnes per hectare.
