If the idea is that you should *never* vote for the other party, even if yours nominates a lifelong member of the other team, who also tried to overthrow the Republic, that's just ridiculous and un-American. If voting for a D is disqualifying as an R, Trump has cast more D votes than I have.

People tell me the GOP I love is dead, and I should give up. But why? Trump *barely* succeeded in his hostile takeover in 2016; authentic conservatives can win it back. I'm a pro-life, limited government, Reagan conservative. Repairing the GOP seems more achievable than changing the Dems.

He’s right. The Republican Party isn’t a party of ideas. Or policy. It doesn’t stand for anything. It’s just a bunch of people being blindly loyal to corrupt madman who controls the primary voting base, but is unpopular with the rest of the country.

Start in the Oval Office and work your way out.

That is the cowards lesson. The real lesson is that if you take a stand for something you know to be right and just you should keep fighting, not retreat. You need to go down brawling for what’s right. You lose your senate seat either way, but you keep your integrity.

If you’re mad at Congress doing this on inside knowledge, you should be fuming that the President does it and then influences events for profit. He is so stunningly corrupt that his name will be a hiss and a byword for future generations.

Ridiculous. There is no “unprecedented obstruction.” This Congress is no different in that respect from those of the last few decades, and the behavior being described is behavior that Lee, quite reasonably, defends when he is in the minority.
