That's where the challenge actually is... his 5 years was 3+2, and the 3 years expires this June. If Pirates doesn't agree with the fee, they'll most likely trigger the extension This case is similar to Ribeiro's one But I suppose the move from his family to sign is to signal how serious they are about sending him overseas at the end of the season
